I think he is just warning us not to get distracted from whatever the real issue is. Kinda like the magician getting you to look one way while they pull the “magic” behind your back.  Since both CNN and CBS are now considered fake news I would say they are supposed to do the magic, whatever it is. Don’t get distracted!!
