Dang… I learn something new every day if I’m not careful! 🙂
I’ve seen a lot of marketing of various teas here, but they are imported blends and tropical flavors. I finally found this website:
Looks like the growers have some deep Asian cultural roots. It says “on the slopes of Kilauea”. Don’t know the exact location, but Volcano Village is at 4,000 ft elevation, and that is the magic elevation where most tropical clouds impact the mountainside, so you get cold, wet fog a lot of the time, if not outright rain.
That is about 30 miles from the ranch… if I could ever find the place in the jungles and rainforest. I only drink an occasional green tea… not a skilled taster. Don’t like black tea… too bitter. But it looks like you can order direct from the grower on the website, if you are adventurous. My bet is that if it is grown in Hawaii’s rich volcanic soil and climate that the stuff is world-class.
