Here are the points I have attempted unsuccessfully to make. I only wish for a dialogue.
Trump has meet with many leaders in the Arab world these last months. They have said that he has a holistic view, and listens. The Gulf Cooperation Council, lead by the Saudis, is working toward eventual regime change in Iran. King Abdulla, for example, asked for our assistance, but said that they were prepared to do the heavy lifting. They have very well-trained commandos throughout the region, working withing many diverse factions. With the assistance of the Israelis, they have developed advanced weapons technology that even the U.S. and Russia do not have. They are working without fanfare in the region, even on the day of the tomahawk strike, they assisted in other ways.
The chemical attack was very real, despite claims of hoax etc etc. At least 8 countries tracked the planes from the base and back, using ground observers and AWACS. The strike was designed as a strong message and deterrent to future use of chemical weapons. Chemical weapons were used because the Mullahs do not want the war to end. Iran has taken over the Syrian army. Assad is a puppet of the Mullahs.
The Russians were warned in advance so that they could clear the base of personnel. Hence very few casualties. Tillerson said from the first day that this was a tactical strike, not the opening salvo in a new offensive. Half of Assad’s jets were destroyed. Regime change is likely coming soon in Iran, but it will not be our doing. It is a cooperative effort being led by the GCC, and has been underway for some time. The intention is to let the Iranians elect a new government. When the Mullahs go, of course Assad will have to fade away also.
As for doing what he says, Trump did say he would bring us peace through strength.
