Loading ...roundup is used in no till farming to control weeds before planting. No herbicide is used after planting. The only time a plow goes over the field is during planting. Herbicides and fertilizer are applied on the surface.
In Oklahoma, wheat is being grazed out by cattle or baled as hay because of low prices of wheat and high cattle prices.

wheat has not been genetically modified (yet) but has been hybridized to increase yields. In the old days, farmers would save and plant their own seed but the new varieties will revert to the original varieties in the hybrid. Fields planted with second generation seed look like the farmer planted sixteen different varieties of wheat seed.
if you want to see wheat skyrocket from very low prices, a hard freeze in western Kansas before maturity would do the trick.
