had a little small business here stateside. Once had an Army Navy Surplus sort of store. Not so much used military stuff as more modern tactical kind of gear. Had a store front but the real sales came in the back office where I had a Telex Machine. Days before the internet. LOL. In my travels I got to meet some interesting folks. Would hand out a catalog, and orders would magically appear back home for some of the items we carried. Best ‘sales call’ was at a bar in Honduras late one night. Met an American gal that just happened to be the Honduran General’s Personal Secretary. A little wine and dine, and she soon introduced me to her boss. Turned into one of my best customers. 🙂
Anyways, have for the most part always had a ‘cash cow’ or two on the side. Nothing big, largest had 23 employees, but had a more or less steady cash flow working for me in the background. I really did think long and hard before making the choice to open up another small business, or start trading. I think the decision came down to I know what it takes to get a business up and running. The hard work and loooong hours. Trading was something I (thought) would take less time, be a little easier, and that I could do from the back porch or even the beach with a laptop. I will tell you, I miss working with folks. Seeing others improve themselves and their lives. I was always told by business friends that I treated my folks too good, or paid too much. It was always more than just making a buck. That, I do miss.
Anyways, better scratch the Frog Guru off your list. Today was a Loser for me. ( I hate losing, at anything. lol) The Frog Guru is being served up for dinner tonight. Who knew banksters ate frog legs. Think I will suggest some Cajun seasoning after a short buttermilk & egg bath.
Have a good evening buddy. You are one of the reasons I stay in this fight. Appreciate it.
