Loading ...Currently I hold 25% of my account in PM stocks, which following mostly Floridagolds 10/20 cross I intend to hold for several years. That is my ‘core holdings’. I use primarily JNUG/JDST as simply another ‘investment tool’ to be used as a ‘force muliplier’ or ‘insurance policy’ as need be. And I try to keep 25% in dry powder for the unexpected. So far this year, every month has produced a higher balance in the trading account so I guess its working for me for now. I am a very lucky man. But I think I deserve some ‘luck’ at this point because like most Goldbugs, I have certainly Paid My Dues’ to the banksters. 🙂
And what changed my long term attitude, dyed in the wool, would never change my mind, just ‘buy em & hold em’ strategy?
Its the very same thing that has brought about most of the changes in my life, and how I think. Its called pain. Its like a mentor once told me when I was looking into my drinking problems. I told him I was not sure if I wanted to quit drinking and he smiled with that all knowing smile of his and said, ” Farmboy, you are one of us, and when you have had enough pain, you will join our merry band.”
Took me another year, and more pain, before I decided my way was not working, and I was willing to make some changes. That is how I changed my investing/trading, whatever you want to call it. I had had enough pain of simply holding em, and using ‘Hopium’ as a strategy, that SOMEDAY they would bounce back. Works for some, but I was not one of those.
I spend too many hours on the computer doing it, its a pain in the pattoo, there is a lot of things I would rather be doing, but for me, it seems to be working, for now. And besides, at my age, my risk tolerance for ‘failure’ is low, and time is not on my side. So I have chosen to play a more active role in trading, and using the 15 past years of watching these markets, use some of that experience to make an educated guess. If there is such a thing in the PM Markets. 🙂
