His spirit is, well, its Wanka all the way. Upbeat, hanging in, with a bit of positive news even if he could not get enough breath to speak more than a few minutes. The nurse had just left him and he is using a new nebulizer that is helping him. Still very weak, been in bed for a few months. Did I tell you his Spirit is strong? I don’t guess we could expect anything less from our beloved Pirate.
He said, and I quote, ” Feel free to tell the folks at the Tent about our conversation and how I am doing.” I told him “Ok, but of course I’m gonna tell how much you been slacking off of late.” He coughed, then in a raspy voice said, “OK”. That’s our boy !
He said things were hopeful, but not looking so good. Guess we all guessed that by his prolonged absence. Folks, those of you that do a little praying, well, remember the struggles of the ole Reef Dweller. The Docs aint giving him much hope to cling to. Course, they probably don’t know our Wanka. The man who sailed the seas in a sunken ship with a screendoor. 🙂 Now
if that aint being an optimistic, I don’t know how to describe one.
Typical Farmboy, I told him to “Get off the hammock, and start exercising and get himself back in shape ! ” Which was more of an order, ( can a peon order his CO around like that?), well, that’s what I told em.
Damn it was good to hear his voice. Next time I get to feeling a little bummed out over anything, especially the trading account, I need to remember our founder of these Golden Pages, and most importantly, his Renegade Fighting Spirit. I mean, that is one man that takes “Get Off My Lawn” serious. And I think I can relate to him, in that he never met a bankster he liked. And if any man understands what we are going through, the struggles of a Goldbug, he knows this has little to do with making a buck, but our Freedoms, financial or otherwise, especially our Freedoms, and values too. A man does what he says, he don’t cheat a friend, and he stands for something.
Just so you know, Wanka did not ask for your prayers, I did. And I am telling you how the conversation went, I picked on him. Now the rest of what I just had to say, well, that is from my heart. He continues to face a tough fight. But I have learned, that even a tough ole Pirate could use a good word put in on his behalf.
I’m sure, well, pretty sure the old conger is gonna pull through this. For one, he is too much a fighter to ever think otherwise, and Two, I don’t think the Good Lord is ready to argue with him.
Thanks Wanka, your phone call made my day. Now get off your lazy butt, because I cant find anyone that even comes close to reading the tea leaves or chicken entrails like you do.
Best, Farmboy
Ps.) putting up a TV screen over your hammock is the very height of laziness, in my humble opinion. Generals, or Admirals, don’t even get that luxury. Hope to hear from you soon on these pages. ( I doubt he returns my phone call again.)
