a watchful eye during this spring period when higher-altitude snowpacks are melting. Over the years I had the opportunity to be associated with a few forest hydrologists on the east slopes of the Rockies in Alberta and Colorado, and also in interior British Columbia. It impresses me that the accumulated knowledge about hydrologic and meteorologic processes, and forest canopy/soil relations , has trickled down to publicly understandable description like the information summarized by Shuswaplakewatch. Congrats to this regional initiative in helping inform the public about some of the processes involved in forest hydrology and the physics of melting snow. Best wishes for a good weekend in your part of mountain country. Equiz
