How far will the madness extend?
How do we fix a society where the left will complain about Islamophobia and racism even as they are literally cowering under tables in the heart of a muslim terror attack?
all over NEM, GG, ABX
Same as it always is.
$1280 must not fall…
Just a brief note to tell YOU that I enjoy your posts Bigly! Re: the wet laptop…don’t turn it on until it is dry. If you do turn it on while wet/damp then expect a short. Most likely a blown keyboard then and some speaker damage. A wireless keyboard then could suffice at only $20.00
Must be a very large house with 3 AC systems. Are you on the old style R22 system? Price for a seasonal top off has gone crazy. Production ceases in 2020. Ouch!
Re Laptop
Shake it well and put it in a warm oven for a while !!!!!.
If it doesn’t work too well afterwards, get a Free copy of a Linux on a DVD, Mint or Ubuntu, boot yr ‘puter from the DVD and it will examine yr ‘puter and tell u what is not working, if it cannot load properly.
Then u can see if it is worth taking it in and buying replacement parts.
we let too many Crazies into our country and then the Media PANDERS to them because it make for sensational News that gets attention and make US ALL look like were NUTS ….It sure looks that way to a realistic Foreigner !
In the interview, marking the inaugural episode of NBC News’ Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, Putin faced a barrage of questions covering every aspect of the various allegations that Democrats and the media have made.
He dismissed any notion that he had a close relationship with former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and mocked the idea that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, had nefarious dealings through the Russian ambassador:
For me, this is just amazing. You created a sensation out of nothing. And out of this sensation, you turned it into a weapon of war against the current president. Well, this is, you know, you’re just, you people are so creative over there. Good job. Your lives must be boring.
Later, the mockery became more intense:
Kelly: There have been questions in America about Donald Trump’s finances. He hasn’t released his tax returns. There have been questions about this secret Russian dossier, which he says is fake, but which purports to have blackmail information in it generated by the Russians. There have been questions about the communications between the Kremlin and the Trump campaign. All of which has Americans asking, “Do you have something damaging on our president?”
Putin: Well, this is just another load of nonsense. Where would we get this information from? Why, did we have some special relationship with him? We didn’t have any relationship at all. There was a time when he used to come to Moscow. But you know, I never met with him. We have a lot of Americans who visit us. Right now, I think we have representatives from a hundred American companies that have come to Russia. Do you think we’re gathering compromising information on all of them right now or something? Are you all, have you all lost your senses over there?
Feeling your pain this morning Macroman. Left my laptop out on the porch yesterday for a pop up rain storm to give it a good dunking. Water still dripping out of it this morning. Taking that as not a good sign. Any of you computer geeks have a suggstion how to ‘fix’ it? Or anyone know what the best rugged laptop might be would appreciate your suggestion if I have to go shopping.
When it rains it pours. Have an A/C guy coming out today to give a qoute on replacing all 3 A/C systems at the house which just turned 18 yrs old. Have been patching em them up for 3 years, guess it is time to bite the bullet. Those profits in the trading account just went bye bye. Same for that emergency cash under the mattress. Oh well, nothing a double in gold and silver cant cure.
Hearing some stories about our British cousins attempting to fight off those terrorists. Good to know some folks are willing to stand up in the face of mortal danger. I heard it took police about 8 minutes to respond, which is pretty good. Too bad there was not one armed citizen with a gun to face down the knife weilding terrorists. Even 8 minutes can seem like an eternity in a situation like that.
Coffee in hand, ready to start another day. Good luck to everyone !
is on the RUN…its finished ..! everywhere from Griffin to Le Tourneau ……everybodys sick of it ..had enough of crazies that took over what women were respected for and made it into a Power GRAB so un feminine

Mary Kay Letourneau’s husband has filed for a separation from his former teacher, nearly 20 years after she went to jail for having a sexual relationship with him while he was in the sixth grade, the Seattle Times and TMZ reported Tuesday.
There are more problematic layers in this matter than in a Moldavian wedding cake. America has been functionally ungovernable for quite a while, well before Trump arrived on the scene. His predecessor managed to misdirect the nation’s attention from the cumulative dysfunction with sheer charm and supernatural placidity — NoDrama Obama. But there were a few important things he could have accomplished as chief exec, such as directing his attorney general to prosecute Wall Street crime (or fire the attorney general and replace him with someone willing to do the job). He could have broken up the giant TBTF banks. He could have aggressively sponsored legislation to overcome the Citizens United SOTUS decision (unlimited corporate money in politics) by redefining corporate “citizenship.” Stuff like that. But he let it slide, and the nation slid with him down a greasy chute of political collapse.
Which we find embodied in Trump, a sort of tragicomic figure who manages to compound all of his other weaknesses of character with a childish impulsiveness that scares folks. It is debatable whether he has simply been rendered incompetent by the afflictions heaped on by his adversaries, or if he is just plain incompetent in, say, the 25th Amendment way. I think we’ll find out soon enough, because impeachment is a very long and arduous path out of this dark place.
The most curious feature of the current crisis, of course, is the idiotic Russia story that has been the fulcrum for levering Trump out of the White House. This was especially funny the past week with the episode involving Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and Ambassador Kislyak conferring with Trump in the White House about aviation security around the Middle East. The media and the Lindsey Graham wing of the Deep State acted as if Trump had entertained Focalor and Vepar, the Dukes of Hell, in the oval office.
Why do you suppose nations employ foreign ministers and ambassadors, if not to conduct conversations at the highest level with other national leaders? And might these conversations include matters of great sensitivity, that is, classified information? If you doubt that then you have no understanding of geopolitics or history.
The General Mike Flynn story is especially a crack-up. Did he accept a twenty thousand dollar speaking fee from the Russian news outlet RT in his interlude as a private citizen? How does that compare to the millions sucked in by the Clinton Foundation in pay-to-play deals when Madame was secretary of state? Or her six-figure speeches to Goldman Sachs and their ilk. Are private citizens forbidden to accept speaking fees or consulting fees from countries that we are not at war with? I’d like to know how many other alumni of the Bill Clinton, Bush-II and Obama admins have hired themselves out on this basis. Scores and scores, I would bet.
Trump’s adversaries might not get any traction on the Russia story, but they may enrage the rogue elephant Trump enough in the process that he will appear sufficiently incompetent to run him over with the 25th Amendment, and I think that is the plan for now. Of course, there are some jokers in the deck. A really striking one is the story of murdered DNC staffer Seth Rich last July. He was shot in the back on the street outside his apartment one night by persons as yet unknown, and twelve days later over 40,000 DNC emails landed at Wikileaks. His laptop is reportedly in the possession of the DC cops — if it hasn’t been dumped in the Potomac. I’m generally allergic to conspiracy theories, but this looks like an especially ugly story, which might ultimately be clarified if-or-when Julian Assange of Wikileaks ever divulges the source of that data dump. Anyway, the new Special Counsel at the DOJ, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, may have to venture down that dark trail.
One way or another, though, the Deep State is determined to drive Trump from office. In the final rounds of this struggle, Trump might conceivably undertake a sudden swamp-draining operation: the firing of a great many politicized Intelligence Community officers, especially the ones legally culpable for leaking classified information to media — another area that Mr. Mueller could also shine a light on. The colossal security apparatus of this country — especially the fairly new giant NSA — has become a monster eating America. Somebody needs to literally cut it down to size. Perhaps that’s the Deep State’s main motive in moving heaven and earth to dump Trump.
When they do, of course, they are liable to foment an insurrection every bit as ugly as the dust-up that followed the shelling of Fort Sumter. Trump, whatever you think of him — and I’ve never been a fan, to put it mildly — was elected for a reason: the ongoing economic collapse of the nation, and the suffering of a public without incomes or purposeful employment. That part of the common weal is liable to completely whirl down the drain later this year in something like a currency crisis or a depressionary market meltdown engineered by yet another Deep State player, the Federal Reserve. That and the ejection of Trump could coincide with disastrous results.

I don’t want to downplay the gold sector’s negative technicals; HUI and silver are still leaning bearish, while gold is pretty damn okay on the daily time frame. Indeed, I am still tentatively short GDX against the quality gold (and one silver) stocks I currently hold.
What’s more, the macro fundamentals are not in line yet, either. See Gold Miners in 2017 Whipsaw for more information on the sector’s technical and fundamental situation.
But after running through charts of several miners (which we are now doing each week both in daily chart format in the Precious Metals segment and by weekly charts in the NFTRH+ Notes segment), we also introduced a ‘what if?’ of sorts at the end of the segment. Check it out below and feel free to let me know your thoughts on its viability.
Everybody knows, after all, that the sector is bearish, especially in light of the dreaded GDXJ rebalance boogey man. But sometimes successful speculators need to be open to outcomes that may not be readily apparent.
After all, how apparent was the stock market top and gold miner bull in 2000? The economy was strong, the markets were booming and the nominal charts did not give many signals. Read below and see if just maybe there is a chance that the bear herds, tended so well by bearish gold sector analysts, might just be proven wrong in the coming weeks.
To the bullish divergence by quality leaders like FNV, RGLD, KL.TO and SBB.TO we can add a ‘what if?’ question about the HUI/Gold ratio; as in what if today’s pattern works the way the 1999-2001 pattern did?
Precious Metals (NFTRH 450 partial excerpt)
I did some public writing on this sector last week (ref. nftrh.com) and we know what is needed: upside technical milestones like HUI above the April and February highs; and macro fundamental milestones like gold outperforming commodities and stocks, along with economic deceleration and waning confidence by the public. Does the S&P 500 at all time highs above our target of 2410 sound like waning confidence? No, not yet.
So here is the daily multi-panel view, simply noting that gold is technically bullish and everything else as of now, is not.
[19 daily charts of royalty and mining stocks omitted as this is subscriber content]
The gold stock sector will be ready to go when it is ready to go. If Energy remains bearish and gold continues going up in relation, we could have the makings of a positive surprise for the April-June earnings reporting season.
We are following the sector more closely now because we are either going to be at the ready if the sector breaks upward, takes out the April and February highs and sets a new uptrend, or spikes down to a perhaps final washout.
Let’s end with a look at the HUI/Gold ratio (HGR) from a big picture perspective. The point is that surprises can happen in markets. The HGR bottoming pattern in 1999-2001 did not look much different than today’s specimen.
In 2001 into 2002 all hell broke loose to the upside and seemed to come out of nowhere. What’s more, the hysterical move upward was not driven by the 9/11 terror attacks. That took place while HGR was still well inside the bottoming pattern box as shaded below. The upside was driven by the failing economy that followed. With the current pattern’s right side looking like a bullish consolidation

I dunno… I’m having a pretty good ride. And it is a ride that Clif High DID predict… correctly.
Might as well break out the silver Tea & Coffee service… while we can still afford it.
