Yes I’m sure she does have guilt and that she wasn’t there for her but at the hospital. She said I suppose it’s too late to revive her. She knew that but was in denial at the moment. It couldn’t of been revived anyways as it doesn’t take much pressure to kill a cat. There needs to be more of them because there is so much neglect of animals out there put in high kill shelters for the dumbest reasons. Some come in crying or have such a sad face some just face the wall while others usually smaller breeds just shake in fear. People from shelter take pictures or videos. There are people out there that work daily to get them adopted or in fosters before their time is up.Others work to get injured or abused dogs medical help through donations.
Training is important to because a lot of people don’t have much experience or terrible at it. It saves the dog as much grief as the person.

FYI–from a ZH reader

The fangs are in the beginning of a controlled correction. Any time a major stock has a bad day, AAPL or MCD for example, other stocks pop upward that day for little or no reason so that the averages are not disturbed. Anytime a goosing effort is too weak to move the averages up the Russell 2000 is strong. Why? The stocks in that index are so thin, they move out of proportion to even a small amount of stimulation. The phenomena of of averages taking turns being strong and weak in pretty new in the over all scheme of things. Just a few years back, the indexes were in sync all but a few times per year. These things are all dynamics of manipulation. The algorithms are very complex but what they accomplish are very simple. Feign weakness to draw in shorts. Keep the volume down and volatility low. If stocks are too weak to move all together, move one index one day and another the next. All of this is much too cute to be anything but intelligent design.
Central banks will increase their buying of equities if stocks start to sink. When someone starts talking about punch bowls, it is important to know who is really drinking the punch.
There is always a chance the general public will discover how much and by whom they are being fleeced. That would make a difference but it is unlikely to happen until more people start suffering.

@ goldi….It seems our daughters have a lot in common.  Some years ago my daughter sat all day, every Saturday, in front of a local store with cats from the area animal shelter, in an attempt to get them adopted.  This was her day off from her job which at the time was a systems computer analyst.  Anyway, after sitting with the kitties week after week, she finally got them all adopted…totally emptied the shelter of cats.  She is now a dog trainer and has her own business that has grown to include taking care of all manner of animals.  I feel for your daughter, she is not only grieving for the kitty but probably is suffering some guilt.  Stay close to her to help her through this.

@ aufever…Sounds like a possible plan.  Maybe we could entice Farmboy to drive up here should you be able to make the trip…and how about Floridians Alex and Treefrog to join us?  Wouldn’t that be a hoot!  We could hold a mini-meet at Vogel State Park, like we did back in 2007…and Farmboy is a great cook, woo hoo!

That is a very beautiful area, for sure. Southern Appalachians is a favorite of mine, and haven’t been in over 3 years. Thanks for the lunch invitation. Will let you know if I head that way.

Thanks for condolences for Kiki. She was always a animal lover and volunteered at the wildlife rescue as a kid and later till the old age death of the last dog she would get paid by friend to watch their pets for them. She even cried for their dogs. Still one left mine still kicking. She was noticed by adults as a child for her keenness with animals. It was hard on her and won’t sleep in the bed now and wants to get rid of it. Her sister fosters kittens keeping them out of kill shelters but now isn’t the time for another.

goldi…I’m so sorry to hear about your daughter’s kitty, poor little thing.

aufever…A meet-up would be wonderful, however, I live in the mountains of NE Georgia and gave up traveling a few years ago…only do short distance driving now.  If you ever make plans to vacation in my area, do please let me know and if I haven’t gone toes up I’ll take you to lunch.  The area is a vacationer’s dream, it only took one week in a lakeside cabin 22 years ago, and four month’s later I was a resident.

Watching Cramer to night giving investment advice to the young. “Buy stocks early, don’t worry, everything will be fine.” Part of me wants to kill him, the other part wishes I would have just bought stocks when he called a bottom in 2009. Love him or hate him, if I had just bought tech or pretty much anything but gold stocks, on his call, I would have made back all losses from 2001. Pretty devastating at my age. I’ve still not mastered the art of diversifying or fear and greed…

Then there’s this – backroom deals in Syria.

Have a great weekend all

New York Fed Calculates Inflation Is Running Hottest Since 2007

On Friday the New York Fed issued a new series of inflation gauge called the Underlying Inflation Gauge. Unlike the CPI and the PCE, it registered a reading of 2.7% August, the highest reading since November 2007.

Glad you’re back Moggy!

So, if the world doesn’t end tomorrow as predicted on Sept. 23rd,then I’d say – just a couple more months! 🙂

That’s a long time it took to fix it. People have become so dependent on the net that I bet they would go nuts without it lol especially the young. The young do have one thing on their side, most of their friends and immediate family of course are close by and not get too interested in world affairs or the stock market.
I bet you cat is wondering why your paying so much attention to that object. A sad thing happened to my daughters cat the other day. It died in a horrible accident. Her other had to have surgery on a foot and acting like a big baby and worse wanting her to stay with him 24/7 even though she had to pick not only her kid up from school but his and take care of them too. One of those guys worried someone else might come around. His mom said that’s why she left his father. Not bad guy just picked up a insecure behavior from his dad apparently. He wasn’t dying or even critical and she had kids to care for and he wanted her to even be there at night when he was sleeping. I had to talk to him and his mom was on my side.
She just got a kitten a few months ago that looked just like a cat she had once. She loved that cat. It was only about 3 months old growing and happy. Well after dropping the kids at school she went to the hospital spend s few hours there 4-5 and saw her kitten playing on the bed Before she left. She ask my help in finding her she was gone. Well in the process of looking for her I heard her cry out then crying. It turned out the kitten stepped on the beds remote control then must have jumped around and got crushed by the bed moved back down and was dead. It was horrific. Who would think a remote on a bed not in use could be a death trap for a kitten.

The royalty companies are generally more steady performers. If I had just put all my holdings in RGLD I wouldn’t be crying like a little b*tch all the time. As far as Mac, he seems to make his investments based on a higher price of the metals-he’s a gambler, with our money….

That being said, if he’s right about the direction of the metals, his shares will far outperform those of the royalty companies. JMHO

@ Alex…lol, hardly traumatized, more like going nutzoid without the net…what an experience although kitty was not unhappy about it as he got a lot more attention than usual, even though I stop computering whenever he makes demands.

@ goldi…thanks for thinking about me.  Yep, prepared as one could possibly be…a generator would not have helped as I didn’t have a power outage, my ISP had their wires ripped up and were unable to provide service…until about three hours ago.  My neighbors are like me, hermits unless someone is in dire straights and come knocking.

@ Farmboy…thanks for the good thoughts…love the teapot!!!

To all…I don’t have or want tv, haven’t watched it for the past ten years…don’t have radio reception and was too lazy to crank up the hand-powered short wave radio so didn’t have any knowledge of what was going on in the world…finally went to the library to check out some DVDs to occupy my time and was so attuned to nothing but nature that I forgot to check what was going on in the outside world while on the library computer.   All in all, I feel fortunate that I didn’t lose power.  God is good.

… and I think we should remain Israel’s ally but we sure can’t let them dictate our foreign policy for us.

Maybe that’s a good question for a poll.

That’s sure a scrambled spaghetti mess of danger, conflicting interests and the possibility of a wider war over there. We should try to extricate ourselves as much as possible. I’m glad that the American and Russian generals are talking every day. We don’t need small mistakes turned into big ones.

Now the Kurds (who we support) are having a referendum on independence. The Turks, Syrians and Iraqi’s are not too happy with the idea, especially the Iraqis who are going to lose part of their country an area which produces a lot of oil.

McEwen & MUX ……….for as “anti gold royalty company” as he is McEwen’s best performing personal gold stock

Posted by overton @ 12:47 on September 22, 2017

has been a royalty company (Abitibi royalties rzz abytf ).  He should have listened to his ex mux ceo …… Ian ball.   Ian Ball got Abitibi down to less than 11.5 mil shares.

NO MUX ceos combined have  spent more time at the mine sites since Ian Ball left.   McEwen could have easily did with MUX what Ball has done with Abitibi.

McEwen pounded the Canadian brokers when he did his rights offering several years ago so this share pounding and share dilution he has received is a payback.

Ian Ball on issuing shares

“The cost to existing shareholders when equity is issued is always high in mining (and most industries for that matter). Shares are typically issued at a discount to market (up to 20%), fees are paid to financial advisors (typically 7% of the total raised), warrants are given to new investors in order to “entice them to buy” and some are good for up to 5 years! Lastly, there are legal and exchange fees. Add it all up and you can see why issuing shares is a costly exercise. You will probably hear counter arguments such as, “that didn’t stop my junior explorer from doubling or tripling in 2016”. It is best not to confuse brains with a bull market. ”

Yeah, they’ll drag us in, they always do.

Thing is the Israeli/Saudi/US backed Al Qaeda/ISIS “freedom fighters” got their asses kicked in Syria and failed to overthrow Assad and completely destabilize yet another M.E. country.

I’m wondering when those Russian S-400 missiles or whatever they are will start knocking those jets out of the sky, I guess Israel thinks it’s ok to bomb Syria when they’re over Lebanese skies.

How did we ever align ourselves with such a warmongering people?

It “don’t” matter…

No-one Cares…

“No one really cares about the U.S. federal debt,” remarked a colleague and Economic Prism reader earlier in the week.  “You keep writing about it as if anyone gives a lick.”

We could tell he was just warming up.  So, we settled back into our chair and made ourselves comfortable.

“Still, if the speed of light example doesn’t do it for you, how about the speed of sound?  When Chuck Yeager first outran sound he reached what was called Mach 1.  That equals 767 miles per hour – or 1,125 feet per second. So, at $34,880 of new debt per second, the federal government is running up the debt at a speed that’s over Mach 30.  Yes, things have really gotten out of control!

Mach 2 jet nozzle flow visualized with Schlieren filters. Observe, then close your eyes and imagine it going 15 times faster. That’s the speed at which the federal debt currently grows. What can possibly go wrong? [PT]

To Hell In A Bucket

“You’d think that running up a tab at a rate like that would be a lot of fun.  But look around.  No one, including the upper crust, is having fun. Take that Facebook geek, for example.  Zuckerberg!  Have you seen the mug on that kid?  He wouldn’t know what fun is, if it jumped up and bit him on the behind.

“How much longer this government debt binge can go on for is anyone’s guess.  One thing is clear, however.  It has gone on much longer than any honest person could possibly fathom.

“Under George Dubya the federal debt doubled from $5 trillion to $10 trillion.  Then under Barry Big Ears the federal debt doubled again to $20 trillion. There are predictions floating around that The Donald will again double the federal debt, taking us to $40 trillion.  If he and Chuckles Schumer succeed in obliterating the debt ceiling, he just may pull it off
