Loading ...The story I posted wasn’t about nationalization but more about just obstructing the construction of the mine. I agree though that in the future more cash starved govs will be raising taxes on the miners and in some cases taking over their operations. A good example is Indonesia and Freeport McMoran’s Grasberg Mine, and also what’s going on in South Africa. I think govs who do this are going to have big problems attracting more capital into their countries. What company is going to sink hundreds of millions of dollars and years of work into a country which is likely to just grab their operation? Not many I think.
