At the moment it looks like I owe you an apology for my $hithole prediction made at 20:34, Jan 12th on Oasis. Someday POG will open sharply up on a Sunday afternoon. In the meantime, my confidence in gut feelings has taken a hit. Cheers.

Weather leaves Centerra investors cold even as gold prices sizzle
Centerra’s woes have caught the attention of a Bank of Montreal analyst, Andrew Breichmanas, who reduced the target price for the stock by a buck to $9.50, still far above where it is trading
Back in October 2016, Centerra Gold CEO Scott Perry told investors that purchasing the Mount Milligan gold and copper mine would give the company an asset in “one of the lowest risk jurisdictions” in the world — British Columbia.
At the time, his company’s other flagship asset, a gold mine in the Kyrgyz Republic, was mired in disputes with the local government about pollution and corruption.
But about one year after Centerra acquired Mount Milligan — about 120 kilometres northwest of Prince George — as part of its US$1.1 billion takeover of Thompson Creek Metals in 2016, Perry is learning that even B.C.’s interior carries risks, including unpredictable weather. After experiencing drought through spring and summer, the company its water supply was dangerously low, and then froze when an unexpected cold snap hit in late December.
“Due to a lack of sufficient water resources, mill processing operations at the Mount Milligan mine … have been temporarily suspended,” Centerra told investors on Dec. 27.
The halt comes just as gold prices are up nearly 18 percent in the past six months. Centerra’s stock has is down 13.1 per cent in the last six months, at $6.10 as of Friday morning, even while other gold companies such as Agnico Eagle, Goldcorp and others surge.
Now, Centerra has asked provincial authorities to expedite its application to pump water from nearby lakes that some First Nations groups claim overlaps their traditional territory.
many years ago, i looked into the requirements for immigration into canada. at that point, they had a “point system.” you got a list of qualities they were looking for in prospective new citizens. i don’t remember the whole list, but you got a certain number of points if you were a high school graduate, if you were a college graduate, if you read/wrote/spoke english, likewise french, if you had a journeyman’s card in a skilled trade, if you were a military veteran, if you operated a business, extra points for doctors and nurses, etc. etc. a long list of qualities the canadians thought would make you valuable to them. if you had a certain number of points, and if you had financial assets sufficient to get started, and definite prospects for employment in canada, your application would proceed.
the point is, they allowed immigration when they thought it was to canada’s benefit. i think their system may have changed some details. but is still set up to benefit canada. i believe most countries have immigration systems with similar aims. the host country makes the rules in such a way that the host country benefits. i believe that normal legal immigration system to the u. s. a. is set up that way. the problem is there are too many exceptions and outright evasions.
legal immigrants to this country, by and large are assets to their new home. the screening system works. the exceptions and evasions – not so much.
Mexico may get their wish. They are moving up and might surpass Japan. I double it will be Americans wanting to move there though but others from even poorer countries. The opposite will happen to them.lol In the mean time 70 percent of Americans will be the struggling poor in the future because of all the immigration.
Good points, but when it comes to money, you can’t stop people from doing or going where they want to do, even if its against the law. It happened here. Americans love those self employed lawn cutters.
If ONE Peso bought a $20 bill? Believe me, the Mexicans would leave here and go back. Work for 1 Pesos, and import or buy $20 worth of high quality US products. 10 Pesos? $200 worth of US products.
Mexican workers earn the average minimum wage of 65 Pesos a day. ($5) If Pesos were worth $20 each, they would earn $1300 per DAY. Even 3rd generation Americas would flock there to cut grass. ($39,000 per month) Screw the law, catch me if you can. Fake ID etc.
A couple of guy from India that ran a gas station told me about them. Same thing. They work here one month (work 16 hrs, and share a basement apt) go home and buy a new car. Savings for one year go home to India and buy a house.
Americans can’t do this anywhere. At these rigged currency exchange rates. If the dollar ever crashed on the FOREX markets, the country would boom. Excess people would leave, and free up jobs and apartments for others, add an extreme labor shortage.
That wouldn’t happen because both Mexico and China have immigration laws” they enforce.” If you got caught with a fake ID in Mexico you’d go to prison. I you think you could go there like here and have a child to gain entry your child would be denied citizenship until they turned 18 then would have to apply for it. Also no Daca there so really doesn’t matter. Only thing that would change is illegal immigration to here.
One US Dollar equals NINETEEN Pesos today. If that was reversed?? $20 = One Peso? Millions of Americans would be flooding into Mexico illegally for the money. Arbitrage they call it.
Chinese Yuan? $1 = 6.45 Yuan. If THAT was reversed?? The USA would be exporting to China. And China would be creating fake unneeded jobs at other Chinese people expense.
Before WW II $1 = 1 Yen, after WW II they made $1 = 360 Yen.
Roger. I heard it this morning on TV about no missile shield in Hawaii. I guess it was just more fake news. 🙂 There ain’t ever gunna be any missiles flying in my opinion. The PTB succeeded in intermingling all the countries, into a world that lives as one, as per John and Yoko. There are only a few holdouts that won’t join the way I see it. N. Korea for one.
TPTB just like to maintain fake jobs, like fake news. Five different employees came here over the past couple of years because of a new UNNEEDED water meter. Also dozzens of Agricultural Dept employees looking into trees for a long horn beetles.
Then come the Tree people to cut infected trees down. Gas mains being changed. Water mains too. New bridges, new center dividers, etc etc they are gleefully wasting tax money all over the place. Not realizing its just like a tax increase.
The local powers even bought special photo equipment to ticket people thru the mail, who made a right on red without a COMPLETE stop of the wheels. More tax, as Trump and company are lowering taxes.
I guess we didn’t have the best securities in the world if we have enemies from within. Maybe we should of gave immigration status to a bunch of Norwegians instead lol
As far as Daca, No one but one person I know ever asked the question of why we have to ask permission for Demo or plantation republicans to follow the rule of law. I keep hearing the quote over and over because it’s all they got from the days of the Statue of Liberty were a immigrant nation, give us your poor and huddled masses. No one looks back to that time to see the US was putting in place immigration laws to slow or even stop the flow of mass immigration. Since railways are already built it’s more about sporadic labor and votes now. You might mention how entitlements started a decline but notice how entitlements, public schools vs paying teachers directly and other social programs also caused a endless flow of migration that wouldn’t otherwise bother to come here when before it was looking for jobs and mostly men.
Ipso- I was just leaving home when the alert came. Turned around and went back to the ranch and turned on the TV for more information. I was pretty secure in thinking my remote location would be a waste of a good Nuke. They would lob a missile at Oahu with all it’s military targets and Pearl Harbor. I’m 250 miles away with several volcanic peaks as a blast shield. Old friends in Honolulu were sure they were gonna die, though. And now they are righteously pissed!
Mr. Copper- Hawaii DOES have a missile shield. All the orbital intercept tests were launched from Barking Sands, Kauai… and they worked!
The stats include only first-time foreclosures to avoid over-reporting the number of distressed properties in the city as auctions are frequently postponed and rescheduled. We report separately on lis pendens filings, legal notices which mark the beginning of the foreclosure process.
During 2017, we released quarterly reports that indicated a sharp increase in the number of properties headed for the auction block, particularly in Brooklyn and the Bronx. The fourth quarter of 2017 confirmed this trend, so the yearly stats reveal that the number of cases is at its highest since 2009, with year-over-year increases in all boroughs except Manhattan. Keep reading for detailed stats on each borough and in-depth data going back all the way to 2007 for a clear picture on the evolution of foreclosure activity in NYC.
Chart below shows the foreclosures climbed as the US Dollar climbed after 2014.
Hi Goldilocks. Yes, there is no plan for citizens who have no plan nor know what to do.
Imo around 9/11/01 we had the best of the best security, and it was worthless. It had no affect. Like germs (the rebels) that “learned” how to over ride antibiotics (national defense)
I’m not concerned at all about a missile attack from anywhere. If N. Korea even sent a missile into the USA? Ha, it would be like poking a hole in a killer bee, bee hive. I dare them. And that’s what Trump should tell them. “Go ahead, make my day”. 🙂
Everything is scare tactics imo. Even Saddam Hussein claimed he had weapons of mass production to scare Iran. N. Korea claims they have missiles only for self defense. Who knows anything for sure? They may have nothing to speak of other than hot air to get attention.
There is always some dysfunctional country popping up playing war games. For that reason we need better security and not assume like in P Harbor or T Towers it won’t happen.
It does point out one obvious thing be P H or T Towers is there is no plan for citizens who have no plan nor know what to do.
