Loading ...Free showers, even better but don’t think it would happen today unfortunately. Yes people spoke of watching out or helping each other in those times. Things seemed to progress fast from about that time to the 50s. So much new stuff to make life easier or more interesting like communication and entertainment like TVs came out so fast it’s hard to imagine the difference in just one generation. I remember the party lines and smaller TVs with no color. Don’t remember much about the shopping except getting a Turkey with my grandfather about age 4. He didn’t say anything had me wait outside so talked to the turkeys getting them all gobbling when he came out with a package and pretty well figured out it was a freshly killed turkey but didn’t ask. Otherwise guessing the fresh chickens were probably over.
