“A tenacious epidemic of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) typhoid in Pakistan is just one small genetic step away from becoming untreatable—and health experts expect it to spread worldwide.
“It’s a global concern at this point,” Dr. Eric Mintz, an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told The New York Times. “Everything suggests this strain will survive well and spread easily—and acquiring resistance to azithromycin is only a matter of time.” Azithromycin is currently the only antibiotic remaining that treats the infection.”
You wonder why are these old diseases are making a comeback?
I was watching a Dr. OZ show a couple of months ago and he tested 5 cell phones of his employees who take their phones into the bathroom while they are “unloading” and phones from 5 employees who don’t take their cell phones into the bathroom. Some of his employees said they spend almost an hour working on the T bowl doing work or surfing.
The bacteria count (its actually higher on the outside of the T bowl than inside) was around 10,ooo on the cell phones that were not in the bathroom well over 1,000,000 on the phones that went into the bathroom.
When you go into restaurant and see employees talking on their phone (and they all do it) its no wonder all these diseases are making a comeback because I know they are not decontaminating their phones.
