Usual crap…as they are sitting on the shares…PM shares should be flying here, with metals back to daily hi’s and Dollar on lows again.

Someone is stopping GDX printing above 23.00.

Glad you have water, hope it doesn’t get affected. Read about the water and rocks. I had to take that chance with rocks one time, cooking on them hoping they didn’t explode camping. Long story, forgot someone borrowed some of my camping cooking gear on a spontaneous trip but didn’t put them directly over the fire but of course had to wash them then heat them first. Read that there was no known end to volcano right now. That it’s being studied to learn from all over. They said they can’t tell what’s going on under ground. Now if heat sensor aircraft can find things why can’t they find the flows?

Part of it missing and after having on hand sterile wraps was looking for a small piece of his finger after unplugging the contraption grossing my daughter out. Anyways with all that saw dust couldn’t find it in a hurry. A very small price. Have to check how he’s doing today in the hospital. Didn’t take any bone so told him don’t let them cut it off.

Yup they managed to stop the dollar rally and have somehow driven long rates way down, I suppose on the back of a weak CPI, which was obviously cooked, though why that helps the dollar…don’t ask.

Needless to say the SM finds it all very bullish. So again we may be left alone…though $1320 is now the $1315 line.

…I dunno but the mkt looks like it’s in the “no downside” mode again–the “stock killer” 3% 10 yr yield seems–like everything else–to have been shrugged off…that said the mkt is up 5 days in a row and shorting this opening rally might be good risk reward–It looks like they are back to mindlessly pouring money into the FANG stocks…causa Buffett and apple-?

Even though they’ve put the cap on the metals, most of the shares seem to be doing pretty well.

Randgold (GOLD) reported weak earnings this am. – down 8%. That will keep GDX from taking off and getting unruly.

What we need to see is the metals build on these gains, probably a fat chance.

At least the USD isn’t working against us.

So far, the Iranian missiles have attacked Israeli sites in the Golan Heights only.  So far, Israel has attacked only Iranian sites in Syria. These Iranian sites are not being used against Syrian rebels, they are missiles and other systems to be used against Israel.   So these are limited attacks by both sides.

The lava lake at the summit, which was full to overflowing last week, has drained 970 ft. down the hole.  Take a moment to envision a hole like a rifle barrel almost 1,000ft deep, with a lava lake at the bottom.   This is such a dangerous condition that they have closed the National Park to visitors now.  This morning a rockfall down the chimney resulted in an ash plume explosion hundreds of feet into the air.   In 1924 an even larger explosion resulted when groundwater suddenly poured into a receded lava shaft and blew out the crater, throwing tonnage of rocks thousands of feet into the air.  So the summit area is unstable and dangerous.

Fissure 15 opened on the east end and crossed Pohoiki road.  On the west end, across Hwy 130, an area of steaming vents has opened up.  Hwy 130 is closed where it crosses the rift line, with shifting 8-inch cracks across the road.  This was the major highway into lower Puna.   Hwy 132 at Kapoho is still usable but endangered.   Government beach road is a jeep trail around the eastern Cape Kumukahi is the last line of evacuation of the southern shoreline area.

Sulfur Dioxide + water = Acid rain.  Major concern now as Goldi noticed, with most homes on catchment water systems.  I selected a subdivision that has our own private water system from a 400 ft well in the Mauna Loa aquifer, so I have good piped water to the house.  I also have a water filter or three for emergency use.  I’ve also ordered sulfur dioxide filter breathing masks just in case the plumes waft this way.

The earthquake swarms have lessened in frequency, but are still quite active.
