The masks are 3M nose/mouth ‘half face’ masks with replaceable filters. The filters are 3M #6003 for acid fumes, made for Sulfur Dioxide. Some people opt for eye protection also with a full-face mask. Or you could use regular goggles, sealed up.
Closed up the house last night and ran the air conditioner overnight. We had 0.8 inches of rain overnight, but with SE winds now the VOG is drifting over us heavily this morning. Looking across the road, the air is blue smoke, so I’m sheltering in place inside the house this morning. I can taste the vog as a bitter acid in my throat. The summit crater belched out another big ash plume early this morning up to 30,000 ft. So in addition to the SO2 vog, we could have light ashfall in the area.
I can’t wait until the NE tradewinds return to blow this crap south offshore. Now being downwind of the eruptive area, I hear the artillery cannon shots from the vents a lot louder this morning.

Sure they can have that bundle of headaches. They’re welcome to it!

I think of the European Colony as a modern day Plymouth Rock, but so far its not working out as well. It’s going to take about a hundred years or more at least to convert or “modernize” the natives over there to live as one.
The “natives” probably think or complain, about the new comers not assimilating to their Arabian lifestyles. Here in the US many people complain about new comers not assimilating. It’s gunna take a long long time.

You should sign up for that Ebates thing since you live on a Island. Someone I know was talking about it for awhile. You go through there site to the online stores to buy and they give you cash back. The person I know explained things cuz you can go instore and buy things too. She found a double coupon for something got it for free and Ebates had a cash back on it so not only got it free got 7 dollars back. Haven figured out how to do the instore thing yet but guessing it’s places like Target Walmart et all on their lists.
I decided to try it online and got a check few days later. Don’t know how much haven’t opened it yet.
She made so much on it she can basically now shop for free and still get money back. Lol She knows how to work the online or paper coupons plus in store coupons plus Ebates though.

Small minors. I have some SGSVF (Sabena) and Osisiko, OBNNF. These are my good companies with good properties and potential for being bought by the bigger hungry fish out there.

What kind of mask did you get? A regular one like for virus/ dust/ germs like N 95 I talked about for flu or the respirator type? I’m guessing respirator type. Maybe googles too.
Warning in Hawaii store bought masks of course won’t work. There saying just leave the area but guess that’s hard if wind the changes around all the time. Guess if you go out and about you might have to take it with you.

Exclusive: As Rosneft’s Vietnam unit drills in disputed area of South China Sea, Beijing issues warning
HANOI (Reuters) – Rosneft Vietnam BV, a unit of Russian state oil firm Rosneft, is concerned that its recent drilling in an area of the South China Sea that is claimed by China could upset Beijing, two sources with direct knowledge of the situation told Reuters on Wednesday.
Rosneft said on Tuesday its Vietnamese unit had started drilling at the LD-3P well, part of the Lan Do “Red Orchid” offshore gas field in Block 06.1, 370 kms (230 miles) southeast of Vietnam. The block is “within the area outlined by China’s nine-dash line,” according to energy consultancy and research firm Wood Mackenzie.
When asked about the Reuters report of the drilling, China’s foreign ministry spokesman said that no country, organisation, company or individual can, without the permission of the Chinese government, carry out oil and gas exploration or exploitation activities in waters under Chinese jurisdiction.

Even the 10 yr Bond rate is double, 1.4% to 3%. The S&P looks tired. The Trade deficit is bigger. The national Debt is passing $20 trillion. Uneeded expensive public service jobs all over the place with pensions keep raising taxes. The entire private sector work force is under paid. Average pay is $25/hr. Somebody else needs to finish this post. I have to make coffee now.
Continued 9:55 AM:
I forgot about the latest real estate bubble. Crashing in Canada now and other places I heard. I see vacant store fronts all over the place. Industrial space rents for 2-3000 feet, I remember 40 years ago $7 a foot. Here we are 2018 and I’m hearing $9/ft. I’m hearing $18-$20/ft small store fronts. And very negotiable.
Things change fast. You never know. Something hits the news? And everything changes. Probably the next big news event will be a recession “possible” in the USA, naturally after it already started and getting obvious to too many people. Then they admit it.
Another possible news event is a replay of the 2000 point Dow drop in two weeks a few months back.

They’ve been eating your lunch for about 8 years now. You always think the markets are going to go the other direction but they’re not. Don’t forget the Matrix controls the system. It’s designed to help them, not us. And in a crash it’s going to hurt everyone, so don’t hope for it.
Guess what seasonal charts are bullschitt too. They will work in any sector except the PM’s you should know that by now.
In fact I don’t believe charts or anything thing anyone says anymore about the PM’s. If you’re right…It’s just luck

Summit crater Halemaumau belched out an ash plume up to 20,000 ft. this evening. With light to no winds, the ham radio operators report light ashfall at Volcano village. Cracks in the main highway past the national park also appeared this morning. Not eruptive. These are deformation cracks related to the ongoing deflation of the summit area as the lava recedes underground. Aviation code RED warning for the area, no fly zone.
The east rift zone continues to sound like distant artillery at the house, with occasional thuds and booms, accompanied by the house shaking small earthquakes. With no wind today, the SO2 plumes rose straight up and formed condensate clouds. Tonight we have intermittent rains…. certainly acid rain… falling in the area. At least it cleans the air a bit. No serious fumes here at the Quaking Volcano Ranch today, but we stay hyper-aware of the wind direction and changes.
