Loading ...Years ago while in the Marine Corps we had some guys working on a huge floating expeditionary base with a large airfield that could land the biggest transports. Problems with oceanography factors (ocean swells, wave heights, etc) and cyclones (and other storms) made it too hard to do. The floating island needs to be able to move out of the way of trouble, especially in the Western Pacific. It can be done, but the cost of doing it, with today’s technology made it too expensive.
