Loading ...But bears are drawn to the easy pickings of garbage cans . Well intentioned folks have had laws passed to prevent driving them away from urban zones with a BB gun or slingshot . Bears are not stupid. A bit of discomfort will drive them back into their natural habitat and foraging for food there . Now , hardly a month goes by without a report of bears sleeping in neighborhood trees and pets ( small dogs in particular ) ending up dead ( or devoured ? ). The crocodiles snack on pets ( and an occasional child ), too . A couple of years ago , a little boy was out of their Disney waterfront hotel with his dad , wading in the lagoon , when he was killed by an alligator . His father tried to fight it off , but couldn’t save his boy .
