I’m sure most of you guys saw the pictures of the Taliban and Afghan gov troops chatting and laughing during the Eid al-Fitr religious holiday. Taliban soldiers wandered freely about the cities. I would guess that the Taliban leaders who are entitled to some measure of power if a peace agreement is signed would like to have better lives, not constantly being under threat from the sky. That must be getting tiresome after so many years. Let Peace break out!

Also concerning the arrival of Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Afghanistan it makes sense for the Taliban to negotiate now in order to control the situation as regards to the foreign groups.

Analysts and Western diplomats said Ghani’s offer to hold unconditional peace talks had set the stage for U.S. officials to open backchannel negotiations with the Taliban, despite Washington’s policy that peace talks be Afghan-led.

“Ghani has done his bit,” said Thomas Ruttig, co-director of Afghanistan Analysts Network, an independent think tank.

I was in your shoes twelve years ago and I PRAY your wife has a better outcome . Do all you can to make sure ICU nurses and doctors are truly attentive to your wife . I will say no more – in my wife’s case , lack of attention to monitored vital signs ultimately resulted in her death a day later.

I hesitated to even say that , with all you are dealing with , but if it helps save your wife’s life then it is worth watching their activities closely .

It’s a crazy twisted world we live in! Not a lot of it makes sense and I’m expecting that to continue.

Re Turkey may quit Nato

Trump is gonna visit the UK @ 12 July and one thing they thought of showing him was our supposed great new Aircraft Carriers, until they realised that we don’t have any planes on them and that he has 10 way larger Carriers already, full of planes…..the 4 F35’s we do have have yet to be fitted out and guess who is doing the maintenance and servicing……not anyone in the UK, oh no some genius has given the contract to……. errrrr ……Turkey !!!!!!

We all have certain strong feelings on one subject or another. I don’t want to see anyone leave, although I do think we had enough of Elliott.

If we can try to stick to gold and markets we’ll be better off. Sometimes that’s not always possible.

My wife is in the ICU fighting for her life right now, second surgery today with at least one more to come and no guarantees. If she does get through, she has a very long road ahead.

Most things seem a lot less important to me today than they did a week ago.

Let’s try to live and let live.
