Centerra mine’s future up in the air as Kyrgyzstan to review deal

Fresh doubt has been cast over a deal reached last year between Centerra Gold (TSX:CG) (OTCMKTS: CAGDF) and the Kyrgyz Republic ending long-dragged disputes, after a government speaker confirmed Friday the parliament will review the settlement in September.

According to radio Azattyk, the upcoming revision of the strategic agreement may lead to increased environmental payments for the company.

The news comes two weeks after MINING.com reported the country’s new Prime Minister, Muhammadkaliy Abylgaziev, was reconsidering the agreement signed by his predecessor, adding his administration planned to submit to parliament its own proposals regarding the document.

It also follows recent charges of corruption against former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov, who signed the deal with Centerra last year — a development local media said it could jeopardize the legitimacy of the pact.

My wife is day to day. If you asked me yesterday, I would’ve said she wasn’t going to make it. Today she has made some positive progress. I have no idea what tomorrow will bring.

The biggest thing of course is she’s fighting infection, so of course they are loading her with different antibiotics to see what works best.

Thanks for asking.

Something to think about.

My memory is fractional right now due to long hrs and multitasking but you reminded me of something I kept forgetting to mention. Got sidetracked on the porch when a giant lizard crossed my path. I’ve never seen them in the wild here that big. Anyways I remember a special needs boy who was getting these cysts all the time. He was on formula that has oils. Usuallly they give water too but on his case no water was ordered. So I suggested that they add it to hos formula. Ever since then and it’s been about 5 years now he has never had another one. I’m guessing there’s no tests on drinking enough water and these cysts but in his case it helped. He wasn’t on a regular diet though.

deer79 – hard to see the manipulation be much worse than it is now. The action in gold is comical considering the action in the USD

Ipso – yeah pretty nice bounce in the shares considering the action in the metals, I haven’t looked at volume yet

Mr. Copper – I do seem to remember your call from Dec. 2016 gold bottom. Maybe you’ll be right about the USD as well – hopefully.

It really is amazing. I imagine that it’s not very hard to tweak the algorithms to create ever changing resistance/stop loss lines in the sand. It’s always been my contention that as the economy/financial health continue to deteriorate, the level of manipulation will increase as well.

Wow, is $1250 resistance now? Unbelievable

Maryland shooting suspect battled newspaper in court and lost

June 28 (Reuters) – The 38-year-old man suspected of killing five people at the offices of a Maryland newspaper group on Thursday had a long-running feud with the Capital Gazette, attacking the Annapolis-based family of publications in the courts and on social media.

Law enforcement sources told the Capital Gazette that police had identified the suspect as Jarrod Warren Ramos, a resident of Laurel, Maryland, who sued the newspaper and one of its journalists in 2012, alleging defamation.

Almost a year earlier, Thomas Hartley, a former columnist for The Capital, one of the group’s papers, wrote a column describing the suspect’s interactions with an unnamed woman Ramos contacted over Facebook, court documents showed. Hartley said Ramos sent her numerous emails in which he called her vulgar names and told her to kill herself.

The lawsuit named Hartley, its then editor-publisher Thomas Marquardt, and Capital-Gazette Communications, then the parent company of the paper.

Ramos had pled guilty to criminal harassment five days before Hartley published his column, records showed. He claimed in court documents that his perspective was not fairly represented. His lawsuit was dismissed in 2013, and an appellate court upheld the dismissal in 2015.

As the case made its way through the courts, a Twitter user calling himself Jarrod W. Ramos posted numerous tweets critical of the Capital Gazette, Hartley and the Maryland judges.

“Yes, Eric Thomas Hartley, you moved to … oh just go ahead and kill yourself already before I do (legally in court),” the user tweeted in 2014.

The account went silent from January 2016 until Thursday, just before the shooting at the Capital Gazette.

A 2015 court document quoted Ramos’ lawyer as saying that Ramos had worked for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics for six years. (Reporting by Diana Kruzman Editing by Frank McGurty, Toni Reinhold)

Mick Kalber would describe this scene as “Prehistoric.  You expect to see a dinosaur walk thru somewhere.”

Commish might know Mick Kalber.  Back in the early 1980’s Mick was an independent videographer in Kona, with his own professional camera and tape editor.  I worked at the NBC affiliate in Honolulu, and we would sometimes hire Mick as a contract ‘stringer’ to shoot news video for us on the Big Island.  When the volcano erupted in 1983, Mick began taking helicopter flights with his camera and documenting the volcano flows.  It became a lifelong passion and business for him.  “Tropical Visions” now sells the majority of volcano videos on the market to the visitor industry.  Mick is still taking almost daily flights with Paradise Helicopters to video the lava flows, and is posting raw lava videos on his website.  You can buy the older videos there, but he has a bunch of current and free stuff to watch here:
