Buygold – Erdogan must be following the lead of Gordon Brown…
The British Chancellor of the Exchequer ( and later PM of Britain ) who sold the British gold right near the bottom around the turn of the millennium . Perfect timing to screw the British people and crash the Pound , so many of them could not afford the beaches of Spain the following summer .
But , as we know , a debased currency is good for the export of manufactured goods .

Hi Alex, Ororeef
Alex – yeah my dad sends me some funny ones every now and then. Some of them are actually clean. 🙂
Ororeef – why on earth would Erdogan and the Turks sell half their gold? That seems like the last thing on earth they’d sell. Unbelievable.
Re: 9:05 , Buygold …Good Logic !
Had you opened the door when the wind was face on to that wall , you’d have risked blowing off your roof as the house became internally pressurized .
Had you opened the door when the wind was parallel to that wall , you’d have risked imploding the house from the Bernoulli vacuum created .
All the more important if she had life insurance . LOL
Thanks for a good laugh .
Did we import any ?
(Natural News) The Chinese government has admitted that hundreds of thousands more doses of children’s vaccines are faulty, bringing the total number of vaccines known to be defective there to nearly one million.
The State Council of China announced that another batch of vaccines for diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus (DPT) that were produced by the firm Changchun Changsheng Biotechnology, were considered “substandard.” Most of the doses were sold to authorities in the Shandong province in northeastern China, and some have already been given to children.
The latest batch of 247,200 vaccines joins the 253,338 defective DPT vaccines from the same company that were discovered last November, along with more than 400,000 produced by a different company.
According to the South China Morning Post, 76 percent of those children who were given injections from the first substandard batch have already been treated by doctors, and there are now plans in place to treat those who received injections from the second batch.
Although the Chinese government has done its best to prevent people from talking about the crisis, Chinese social media is still full of conversation about the topic. There have also been reports that the company used expired ingredients and altered testing records.
Last month, thousands of enraged parents expressed their anger and disappointment that their country has let them down when it comes to their handling of vaccines. The Chinese president promised swift action and a prompt investigation, yet the problem continues.
Critics have accused the government of being more concerned about saving face than making things right with the children who were subjected to the faulty vaccines. In the Nikkei Asian Review, Yanzhong Huang writes:

The world’s first floating farm making waves in Rotterdam
The world’s first offshore dairy farm opens in the Port of Rotterdam this year, with the aim of helping the city produce more of its own food sustainably. But will such farms ever be able to produce enough to feed the world’s growing urban populations?
A Dutch property company, Beladon, is launching the world’s first “floating farm” in a city port.
It has built the offshore facility right in the middle of Rotterdam’s Merwehaven harbour and will use it to farm 40 Meuse-Rhine-Issel cows milked by robots.
Built-up urban areas may not seem like the most sensible places to run farms, but reducing the distance food travels before it reaches consumers’ plates makes environmental sense as it reduces transport pollution.
And if the global population grows to 9.8 billion by 2050 as expected, 70% are forecast to live in cities – up from 55% today.

A Loving Husband
Subject: A LOVING HUSBAND
Thinking back a few years, living in Fla., I remember Hurricane Matthew. I was ready for it but my wife was not.
When the wind reached a screaming pitch with the trees snapping and threshing, the horizontal streaming rain, flying roofing iron and destroyed fences as well as the unnerving sound-levels, my wife was rooted to the spot. She stared and stared through the glass of the window. Immovable, with her nose pressed to the windowpane, the stark fear in her eyes will stay with me forever.
Fortunately, as the eye of the storm arrived and the winds temporarily lessened, I was able to open the door and let her in.
Morning Ipso, Moggy
Ipso – yes old friend we certainly have seen about everything except for commercials net long. Maybe next week?

I’m glad you enjoyed my observations. I’m still amazed at the diverse forms that lava takes, depending on eruptive conditions, gasses, pressures, & water. This has been a historic phase-change for our volcano. For now, the volcano seems to have reached a pressure equilibrium after emptying the magma. The USGS today downgraded the volcano from ‘Warning’ status to ‘Watch’. The earthquakes and crater collaps at the summit have ceased, and lava has stopped flowing out of the vent… for now. As always, subject to change.
Maya, thank you very much for the recent postings from
your own knowledge and observations, plus the USGS links, all relating to recent volcanic activity near you. The type of lava that has always intrigued me is pillow lava, especially when it occurs at altitudes as much as 7000 feet above present sea level, unlike the pillow lava that the edge of your island has recently been experiencing when today’s lava flows reach seawater.
I had the good fortune in 1959-60 to take my geomorphology instruction when this subject was being taught at U.B.C. by Bill Mathews. In the link below, Bill Mathews is mentioned because he is still regarded as an early authority on subglacial volcanos. It was from Dr. Mathews that I first heard of pillow lava.
In case you are wondering how there can be pillow lava formed several thousand feet above sea level, today’s best documentation is from the Mount Edziza area of British Columbia, at about 7000 feet above sea level. In southwestern B.C., also around 7000 feet altitude, pillow lava has also been observed in the Mount Cayley volcanic field of the Garibaldi volcanic belt. In the case of both Mount Edziza and Mount Cayley, the explanation is that the erupting volcano created lava-dammed meltwater lakes beneath or near the melting overhead glacial ice. Pillow lava and pillow tubes developed as lava cooled in the glacial meltwater lakes , just as lava cools beneath seawater. The link below is a schematic of Mathews’ subglacial volcanism.
Hi Moggy good to see you’re here
