So a lot of motorcycle riders here. Nice bike too. Those raised seats in the back can make it windy though.
Right now after this morning sitting outside my daughters house wondering where she was since her car was there and then seing a motorcycle driving down the street toward the house then, that’s my daughter!! Takes after her dad. Now I kinda wish they never invented them. Traffic is bad and crazy here.

Ps he told me when she was a baby she’d be riding one some day.

i had a ’02 bonneville america for several years much like the one pictured here.  it looks a lot like the bonnie speedmaster you posted.  i loved it, but following a broken neck in a car wreck, the doctor persuaded me i was too old and patched together to be riding motorcycles.

the new speedmasters look like they took the americas and restyled them – fenders, sissy bar, tank badge, chrome air filter etc. are changed, but the dna shows a clear link.

It’s amazing some us are still alive. I got a lot of tickets in the early 70s because of that. I remember these two big tough looking cops went up to me and as pizzed as they were said I can’t believe you hit that corner at 50 miles a hour and what I REALLY can’t believe is you passed US to do it. After I left I wonder if they were thinking I can’t believe I didn’t give her a ticket lol
Seeing accidents in hospitals slowed me down on motercyles cuz of emphathy but for some reason not cars till I had kids.
My Ex departed was so mangled they had to use a crank without pain meds in those days to straighten his legs.
Think there’s a time when there’s something we shouldn’t do anymore. Can’t get my head around surfing though but cycles I don’t miss anymore. Kind went with the speed on mountain curves.
Have a friend who lived in Hawaii now in Oregon in heart failure thanks to the VA who went surfing two weekends ago in Oregon. Water really cold in Oregon. With heart failure you should stop. Luckily it went fine this time.
Think it’s that reverse psychology, when your not supposed to or can’t do it anymore you want to do it more cuz it makes that clock start ticking thing you don’t have much time left to be able to do it anymore when you probably shouldn’t already stop now.

I remember back in the good ole muscle car days, 1962 to 1970. There were plenty of great fast bikes on the road in those days. During that era I drove a ’63 LeMans and a ’69 Camaro and remember drag raced a few. They were very fast.

Speaking of British bikes, has it ever occurred to you what might be the origin of my handle?  I had this discussion with Mr. Copper back on GE.  He wondered about it.  I have a few old ones myself: a couple of late sixties Triumphs; couple of Beezers; a ’74 Norton Commando.  None currently running, but I have plenty of parts, and one of these days…

1956 Harley 2 stroke, cool little bikes. I can no longer ride bikes less a three wheeler due to nerve damage In lower legs can walk but not enough strength in them to steady a bike but think I could handle that one. Maybe lol
I hooked my ex up with a Indian but don’t remember the year. I knew a American Indian who had stuff like American pickers who had it and it was all there but disassembled so he got it cheap and put it back together and ran fine.

Now, as we will see below, it most definitely is, and gold therefore looks set to rally along with silver. Gold’s latest COT chart shows that the Commercials are starting to go long for the first time since at least 2001. This is a very bullish indication indeed and gives added weight to the strongly positive COT and Hedgers charts for silver.

Lose/lose, via the cartel

For the past 3 months there have only been 2 possibilities when trying to trade the gold and silver markets. One option is selling a deeply oversold market; the other is trying to catch a falling knife. I have no desire to participate in such a lose/lose scenario. Sure, silver can fall to $13, and gold to $1130, but why tempt fate when the RSI has been in the teens and 20’s forever? On the other hand the relentless selling has repeatedly obliterated what looked like promising entry points. Besides that, 85% of the PM’s time has been spent in a coma, so why bother, unless you’re an algo churning mega-volume for pennies? 

Let’s see if this week’s series of economic news events bring anything different than the big nothingburgers of late. Snowball in hell describes gold’s chances on hotter than expected PPI/CPI figures.

Next up: October gold op. ex. & first notice days in another 2 weeks. Sub-$1200 the cartel goal? History says YES. Maybe it’s the 6″ of rain we’ve received around here but the gloom feels palpable. Something has to give, and hopefully SOON.

I could see being optimistic if you had a lot of cash on hand after 2008. You could buy those boats on fire sale. Same with housing.
Many parents were helping kids and grandkids after even if they were still okay it was still affecting their finances. A lot of jobs like a domino effect just went poof.
Wage inflation, that’s pure arrogance. As long as it wasn’t causing cost inflation.
It’s like saying we don’t want you making too much money plus a excuse to raise interest rates.
I was pretty clueless with those things back then. Definitely more focused on living for the day. I think it’s all the evil it opens your eyes to and how that evil, ego and greed can have a negative effect on so many others.

Roger all that thank you. Again good points. I’ll never forget the 1970s, The Bozos That be were hell bent on lowering the wages. One group took the Dollar off gold, the dollar dropped, Oil went up, workers got pay raises to stay even.

The other group, blamed inflation on the high wages. Two time I remember wage and price controls. Then they started raising rates to 20%, off shored jobs, started importing for mathematically lower prices. The future looked bad to me back then. After the 2008 I got optimistic. But its too slow evolving, too little too slow.

TPTB may know something we all don’t know, and seem to be in panic mode, cheerleading and jaw boning this so called “booming economy”. It ain’t JUST Trump involved. I think there was a “split” of some kind in the PTB group.

Years ago the medical field wanted me first when younger to go into medical law inforvement then the Veterans. I did on call law enforcement but face them you probably as well as I got paid better at that time but the benifite and retirement were better but when young and investing ” before cashes” you probably felt you had more potential and did although your buyers didn’t. Now theyre getting paid more but so is the struggle of states to pay their benefits.

What I remember although it was fragments because I focused on charts and for a few years gold never breached the 150 ma and other indicators although it did move up from the 140. What I remember if euro moved gold could, while it was moving up especially after summer starting in September then the Yen. I stopped following the euro but should have shorted it after it reversed.

That way we could afford a nicer place two pools one indoor a jacuzzi, all that and still have money to eat lol plus a bit of safety as a young female living alone vs roommates. Then ran to get a weapon and her door automatically started to close and moving so fast ran right into it knocking me to the floor and felt like I just broke a rib. I’m thinking man I can’t get up now just my luck so got up anyways.

Your apt now 1600. See the insanity with housing? 1600 a month, a weeks pay would be with work hangover let’s see lol 1600• 4.3 is 6,880 a month! Then the media wonders why so many homeless.
Even if you have a lot of equity in your home you can still be house poor less you sell and move to a cheaper area or do a reverse mortgage and steal your kids if you have them inheritance. Many whites anyways worked to give their kids a inheritance be the farm or home. The Fed stole many heirs inheritance in 08 housing crash due to greed and there desperate mismanagement of a reason due to jobs going south because of them while continuing unfair trade and trade deals like NAFTA.
Same with medical we could pay cash for anything non catastrophic.
You got a 1600 rent and with a kid are paying 900 month or more for medical insurance less you opt for a high deductible and will either be short of cash if you need it or wind up paying the same.
Democrats just screwed that up big time.

So how much of your weekly pay be if you add insurance.

About the only changes made in my miners since the last run in 2003,4 has been to get some Goliath Resources. My niece heard from somebody inside that it should go to 2-4 bucks by August. Guess we are a little late here, but still hoping. Got some at 8 up to 14 cents, so I can’t complain; today it’s at 18, but nowhere near the promise.

In the beginning after high school in ’62 we all lived at home a couple of years. Plus we were always working over time, over 40 hrs. Paid room and board and bought a new 1963 car about $68/mo.  By 1965 my first rental was a waterfront back yard garage cottage for $68/month. ($1.75/hr)

Soon after got a real nice apt for $125/mo ($2/hr) including the heating.  By 1967 $2.50/hr, then I quit and got a new job at $3.35/hr to start. Bought a new car again $2840 new ’69 Camaro. In ’72 a new Winner boat 18 ft.

That was my last real job, lasted to 1975, I was up to $5.50/hr. Old pay stub from 5/11/74 in front of me. 39 hrs. at $5.50/hr. $214 Gross pay, net pay $169/week. Rent was still pretty low, maybe $150? Landlord never raised it much. Same apt today about $1600. Went to self employment after ’75. Manufacturing headwinds starting. Soon after my savings were up to $40,000, enough to buy a house cash in my area.

After 1975 I was all down hill. I should have NEVER stayed with self employed manufacturing. No steady pay, 30-60-90 days late, no sick days no holidays, no medical etc. I should have got a job at the school, public works debt, parks dept. etc. Me and the manufacturing companies I worked for got sold out by the gov’t we paid taxes to.
