Had the same experience with the shorting of billing time..my local land line is Long gone with their fees and usage line crap .I bought a Ooma phone long time ago ,my bill is $10.00 per month.Its an internet phone in the house.My cell phone bill is Zero , my son-in-Law has a family type of arrangement where he can share with up to 5 people ,Each with their own number from Texas ,and Im in Virginia…My wife ,s cell,my cell are free and my home line is Ooma…Totol phones bills =$10.00 per month.Im an original Ooma subscriber ,I understand the base fee is a little higher now ,but still very low… Im now working on the Internet ,TV combo..gonna get that down to Internet only sometime this year.New things becoming available soon ,back to antennas ,only now they have 35 stations ,Hi DEF,and more with NO charge at all …soon as current expires in less than a year from now..New technology is making TV back to free with all the HI DEF stuff.In one year Ill be Internet only fee..”I caught them cheating on that bill “with device rental fees that are now gone..The stuff is built in to the modern tv sets ,so you may be paying rental fees for stuff you dont need..Just make sure they give you a receipt when you return the rental devices or they keep billing you.
Dont forget the new Hi DEF antennas (about $ 50 -80$)are long range about 150 miles and with free APPS like ROKU you can get free movies in Hi DEF…

I was done with AT&T long time ago. They called me to give me a deal on cell phones back when they were those big phones. They changed my phone number. Then I got this bill for 200 dollars on calls I never made. They were going to NY and Africa. Then I figured out they were billing me from my old number they gave to someone else who was making the calls. I got some bubble gum chewing idiots who would not only not do anything about it but hung up on me. Well since their not charging me for the calls I make I guess I can just call anyone. Long story short I cancelled and paid no fees.
They even tried to send me a new bill with the new number on it instead of admitting they made a mistake. Non of any calls I made even to them were on it. Must of been democrats.
I guess you don’t have Metro or Boost which both have low cost service. No over charges on Data but slows down but metro you can get unlimited for about 60 and includes hot spot on your phone so you can use any computer by putting the phone next to it saving Wifi bills. I have wifi and work does so don’t need unlimited so you can get phone and data for about 30 month if you have wifi or save a wifi bill if you get unlimited.

Some time back I noticed they tightened their billing cycle to give the consumer only 21 days from issue of bill to pay. Always pressure with the paper bill to sign up for ‘Auto Pay’, but I will NOT let them access my bank account for payments. So they penalize the ‘paper bill’ user with tight payment deadlines. I always pay my bill when it arrives, and it goes out with the postal carrier the next day. This month I was slapped with a $6 ‘late fee’ for doing just that. In checking, the bill date printed is the 4th. There is no postmark date stamp on these ‘Presort First Class’ envelopes, so I have no idea how long my bill languished at the billing office before being given to the post office. But it does NOT take two weeks for a first class letter to get here from the mainland, but…. here comes my bill on the 18th, with a due date of the 25th, and the boilerplate warning that it can take “up to 7 days to process” (so be sure to mail early!)
I get the bill with only 7 days before due, send it out the next day, and chances are it will arrive in time…. but the A$$#0les have a documented excuse to hold the incoming bills for “up to 7 days to process” so they can slap on the late charge. I’m done with these corporate scammers.
Consumer Cellular here I come! Phone service for half what I am paying now. But wait…. they need for AT&T to ‘Unlock’ my phone from AT&T so I can change. Of course this cannot be done at the ‘Full Service’ AT&T store downtown. I have to go to the internet and jump thru a bunch of complicated digital hoops to backup & restore my phone after they approve removing the ‘lock’. Five hours later and innumerable “Failed Backup” warnings, I think I finally unlocked my phone and got it restored.
I am SOOO done with AT&T !
