PETER SCHIFF:
What is crazy is for the Fed to believe that they can raise interest rates without pricking their own bubble,” he said.
“All bear markets start off as corrections. I think this one is probably a bear market. It’s long overdue,” Schiff said on FOX News Business.
Schiff said investors are on the edge of a precipice that foresees a bear market far worse than the stock market crash of 2008.
This is a bigger bubble than the one that blew up in 2008, and the crisis that is going to ensue is going to be far larger,” he said.
Schiff, along with other market experts, has criticized the government as well, for their obvious role in all economic crises. He’s warned about rising interest ratesthe disaster the trade war will have, and the skyrocketing global debt which will all compound into a massive financial problem that’s inevitable.

A very important point for would be investors in the sector to grasp is that you shouldn’t be put off by missing Thursday’s breakout and having to pay higher prices for most larger gold stocks. They may in some cases be about 5% higher in price than they were last Tuesday or Wednesday, but that is NOTHING compared to the massive gains that these stocks are capable of making from here – don’t forget that this sector has been ground into the dirt by a 7-year bearmarket and has huge ground to make up, and the great news is that more the broad stockmarket gets clobbered, the higher the PM sector will go. Buyers now have the assurance of knowing not just that the sector has broken out, but also that it has the capacity to rally strongly when the rest of the market is cratering, as it has just demonstrated.
************************************
Thursday last week was a momentous day for the Precious Metals sector with gold, GDX and other índices, and giant gold ETF, GLD all breaking out on impressive volume, and this development was all the more extraordinary because it happened when the broad stockmarket was crashing. This is viewed as a strong sign that instead of being dragged lower still by a crashing stockmarket, the PM sector will soar. Silver hasn’t broken out yet, but it should soon follow suit.
*********************************

Now we come to the PM stocks’ big breakout on Thursday, which we will examine on the chart for GDX. Whilst we certainly recognized that the pattern forming in GDX was a potential Head-and-Shoulders bottom, we remained suspicious of it right up until the breakout for two reasons. One was the unfavorable volume pattern whilst it formed resulting in a weak accumulation line (which was also the case with gold and silver), and the other was the fear that PM stocks might be taken down by a crashing stockmarket – but happily the opposite seemed to be the case, with PM stocks seemingly thriving on the general mayhem – and why not? – as the most unloved sector around for years it’s time for a change of fortune. In any event, as you can see, what must have been an internal improvement ahead of the breakout was heavily camouflaged, which was why we didn’t buy ahead of it, but the big volume on this breakout, especially in GLD, means that it should be “the real deal” and not a deceptive pop, especially as it happened when the broad market tanked.

The latest chart for the Gold Miners Bullish % Index shows that there is still a low percentage of investors bullish on the sector, which is of course positive…

****************************************

Let’s now review the charts to assess the significance of Thursday’s breakout. We start with gold where we see on its 6-month chart that it staged an impressive high-volume breakout from a rectangular trading range that formed following the low in mid-August. Right up until the breakout the pattern was ambiguous with the price being pressured by the falling 50-day moving average, so that it could easily have broken down again. Thus this big up day, with the price breaking clear above not just this average but also the resistance at the top of the pattern, was certainly an event of significance. The minor reaction on Friday is normal and provided us with an opportunity to pounce on the sector, having grasped the magnitude of Thursday’s action. We don’t need to dwell much on the latest COT chart for gold, beyond pointing out that it is the most bullish COT we have seen since 2001, with the dumb Large Specs actually shorting gold to a significant degree as of last Tuesday night. A chart like this means that gold has the potential for huge gains from here.

Nope… no ‘heterodyne’, and no local oscillator for RF conversions or demodulation.  The incoming RF is directly bit-sliced and converted into a digital bit stream, and the digital processing of the waveform (formerly RF) is where the modulation is removed, the noise processed out, etc.   ALL of the internal functions are digital bitstream processing at speeds that can exceed 1 GHz (or Gigabits), so it can handle a 50 MHz incoming waveform easily.

I know it’s hard to wrap your head around if you are not familiar with current digital technology.  A decade ago I had the most intense learning curve of my TV broadcast career when we went to digital TV and learned how this was all done for Hi-Def video.  It defies the laws of physics and modulation that we learned as kids.   HDTV nowadays is packing 40 lbs of ‘stuff’ into a 6 lb channel bandwidth that was thought impossible before the turn of the century.

Saudi Arabia To Admit Khashoggi Killed During “Botched Interrogation”

“And if the leaked details of the killing, details that have reportedly been culled from a clandestine recording made by Turkish intelligence, are, in fact, accurate, then it’s difficult to imagine how Khashoggi being dragged out of an interrogation room, murdered and then chopped into pieces could have happened by accident.”

did not ever hear of the latest and greatest in noise reduction, that is magic. Is it still considered a superhet receiver? They must beat something against the RF to make it audible. Your wire is longer than my wire too – I don’t have one at this QTH. But there is some acreage where I could really experiment with long wires and set up a station out in the boonies where noise is low compared to the cities. Only time is required.

Commish – you too. Another Kenwood guy. With Aguila, that makes at least 4 of us at the Oasis. 73 to all.

Her other Native American could be anything way way way back from some partial genes from South America or Asia for instance.

Maya – End Fed Wire

Posted by commish @ 16:28 on October 15, 2018

A wire that is 40 meters long equals 131.23  feet. That makes the antenna a half wave or multiples of from 80 meters on up. With 25 ft or so coax feed I get the SWR below 2:1. Chop off about 20 feet and hopefully you will see better results.

“My wire is longer than your wire!”  🙂

155′ with 9:1 unun.  The LDG tuner & old FT-100 would tune it 160-6 meters.  I found the internal tuner on the 7300 only handles 3:1 swr and will not tune my wire on 80 or 160 now.  Hate to use an external tuner on the 7300, so I might have to modify the antenna so it will tune the lower bands.   Maybe a big loading coil on the longwire.

Warren, the solid state digital stuff has gotten so fast now that they are doing direct conversion of RF, bit-slicing the RF directly and processing it in digital form.  This eliminates the local oscillator, mixer, and IF stages… all the stuff that adds noise and ‘birdies’ to a receiver.   My noise level went from S6 on the old rig to S3 on the 7300.

Every morning I sign in to my Yahoo account where I have a watchlist. Recently every time I do this I get a pop up advertising some new Yahoo service that would tie into my brokerage account.

I would ask “In what Universe would I expose my brokerage account to Yahoo’s No Security, Leaky Sieve Machinations?”

I have looked at a million alternate universes and nowhere would any but a complete moron do this!

warren-indian Monday news.  Found out she is 99.999% white. Maya and Warren. Have a Kenwood 480 SAT.  Operate on 75 and 40 meters.  Antenna is a 132 foot end fed wire to a 9:1 balun.

Added note:

Trump made a bet that he would give 1 million dollars to her favorite charity if she could prove she was an Indian.  So 1/1024 of 1 million equals $976.56.

Roger all that. It was sad for me, (and the public) to hear Carlin passed on. I figure Trump must have been a fan. The public was brainwashed for decades and he (plus me and Ross Perot) was the whistle blower.

I looked it up just for laughs, it has been a long time since my old Kenwood has been on the air; so long that some of the terms on the spec page are totally new to me. If tech keeps going this way, and I keep getting older, don’t think there is much hope for me. I still have an old homebrew tube based CW rig that has sat on a shelf for about 50 years.  Some catching up required.
