Seems like the same thing here in Idaho, the artic chill that’s hitting the Midwest and east coast here in the U.S. is sort of missing us. As you said something to do with the jet stream.
I’m not complaining though, not like I miss those winters with -10 degree temperatures.
I think I’m going to follow in Alex Valdor’s footsteps and find myself a nice warm spot in South America. Right now I’m down to picking either Columbia or Equador. I don’t want to finish my life in an igloo. 🙂
This climate change has been a plus for us here in BC (10ish degrees above normal) compared to most parts like the North American East (extreme cold) or Aus (extreme heat).
I believe the sun is the main cause, impacting our magnetic fields (poles) and thus the jet streams. We happen to be on the good side of the transition zones. I am not an AGW stooge willing to be taxed up the wazoo even if I think human pollution is not helping the situation.
Or as BG says with the gold market, WTFDIK…
I look at GLD and SLV and they are approaching overbought. GDX and GDXJ too.
but the moves have felt so muted, although on the charts they look almost straight up
Waiting for the other shoe to drop, usually if we don’t get hit the day of the Fed meeting we get hit in the days after.
Got some cash to deploy but don’t want to chase. They sure don’t make it easy do they?
Well mm3 may be home, but he forgot to take his cold Canadian air home with him. Some still hanging around down here in the tropics. Frosted windshields in Volcano village at 4100ft elevation this week. Mountain summits 22F with 80mph winds from north. Dry air, no snow.
What ‘Polar Vortex’? The trains must go thru!

But I wonder what he REALLY thinks! 🙂
