we can’t do underground shelters here because of high groundwater levels. i’m just under 100′ elevation, but there’s an impermeable clay layer about 8′ below surface. that gives us two water tables. one, perched on the clay, and one @ about 110′ (the floridan aquifer, below the clay – some of the finest, purest well water there is).
i’m not too worried about storms, i built my own house, and over-engineered it from the foundations up. treefrog manor will be the last house standing in the neighborhood. it should hold up to anything but a direct hit.
