PMs will have their day again sometime. Foreign investors are no longer announcing they’re buying for their own benefit. As the dollar keeps rising so will the buying. I don’t think it will be the single investors driving it up or down less their billionaires but Gov.
China has added to its gold reserves in a desperate attempt to try to keep the dollar down, which also has an inverse trade problem as the yuan declines. At the end of January, China’s gold holdings stood at 59.94m ounces, which was up from 59.56m a month earlier, according to figures released by the People’s Bank of China. Of course, the gold bugs think this is because China hates the dollar and sees the world returning to a gold standard. In reality, none of that is true. China is smart enough that they are trying to keep the yuan from crashing against the dollar, but by selling the dollar they also do not want to buy euros or Japanese yen. With the chaos of BREXIT, the neutral political place is gold. Over the past year, central banks emerged as big buyers of gold with purchases up almost 75% as the private institutional market ignores gold and retail trade has shrunk. The main buyers have been Russia, Turkey, and Kazakhstan who all shifted their reserves away from the US dollar for political reasons in 2018, amounting to $27bn worth of bullion

I think 4 months 20 days is enuff time to see if the expected gold rally shows its hand—In 2015-in late December, a powerful rally began-it peaked in 6 months around July 1st, 2016. CDE went from 1.56 to 15.32 on July 1st.
On July 9th, 2018, CDE hit a peak of $8.32. The stats on CDE aren’t great and they weren’t a lot better when it was $15+…but, surprisingly, it has a book value of $4.18 per share and 72% of the stock is held by institutions…given the set up for gold as per a very wise guru I follow…and the oversold, unloved condition of PMs…devoting some cash to PMs is reasonable risk/reward
…but how can one get a big position/high leverage without taking a big hit if PMs continue on down? I could buy 20K shares of JNUG with a buck stop…and risk $20k..I could buy 20K shares of CDE for $70K and what…set a 50 cent stop….and lose $10K? I am looking for a dynamic rally…who isn’t? With that in mind, I will try to catch it once it leaves the station rather than try and pick the bottom…hence, I again return to my old friend CDE…and I may also buy out right an ole 8K or 10K JNUG—but I think a quick trip on down to $6.50 is possible first
…the link below is for the CDE stats…they aren’t any great shakes but almost all PM companies stats are crap…at least it’s a real company…and with a history of making a big move during a rally…It only hit about $15—I think, in 2011—so it’s performance in 2016 was a surprise. I cast my hook in the water until 9/20…let’s see if I catch a big one.
1,800 trapped underground in South Africa platinum mine – reports
Some 1,800 workers have been trapped in a platinum mine in South Africa after a major shaft was blocked. They remain 1.5km underground but are said to have supplies necessary for survival.
The miners found themselves trapped underground after a haul of rails, transported through the major shaft of the facility, fell down and blocked it, according to media reports.
The Sibanye Gold company, which operates the mine, believes that no one has been injured during the incident. The workers were about to end their shift and had gathered at pick-up points some a mile below the surface just before the incident.
This isn’t just going on in the Philippines it’s many places now. The ocean isn’t a land fill for people trash. They want a green environment these Hippocrates and they do this? Where was GreenPeace all this time?
The sea life have to live and swim in that filthy mess. It covers the sun too and affects not only sea life but plant life where we get ove 50 % of our oxygen.
Any countries doing this need to stop and pay to clean it up.
Fish windup consuming particsl of this trash that collects bacteria and toxins which is bad for the sea life, not only that but gets in their cells as the particulate break down to nano particules of plastic and can’t get out which severely affects their health. Who knows what kind of superbug could evolve that could wipe out sea life and land life.
I hope so, time to drain the swamp even more and retire them and Killary for good. The audacity of her accusing Trump on obstruction of justice for something that didn’t exist she paid to make up after she was the one who obstructed justice.

The perennially furious strongman on Tuesday threatened to go to war against Canada over 103 container vans containing some 2,450 tons of “plastic scrap metal” illegally shipped to the Philippines by Canadian-based firm Chronic Plastics between 2013 and 2014, CNN Philippines reports.
“For Canada’s garbage, I want a boat prepared. They better pull that thing out, or I will set sail to Canada and dump their garbage there,” Duterte said during a Tuesday briefing. “Let’s fight Canada. We’ll declare war against them, we can handle them anyway.”
