They would be self reliant and tax payers as they create wealth. Manufacturing is the birth of wealth. There would be less hopelessness, less drugs and crime.
The USA unwittingly exported jobs and imported people at the same time. And you know about the results. Lets not forget the woman’s liberation movement. Their media made woman feel obligated to go to work and double and dilute the workforce. Rockefeller was known to have said…”We have half the population not paying taxes” He helped start a woman’s magazine.
In a sense we had 50% unemployment and a very high living standard (’45 to ’75) before globalization and spouses entering the workforce. I’ll never forget all the divorced single mom with kids households on my street. Married men working together with married woman eight hours a day created many cheaters and affairs and divorces.
