Loading ...I know you are a good farm commodity trader, but DO be careful for the abrupt and drastic manipulation that happens in this market in the fall when producers like ADM need to buy corn. They will step on the rising market hard to pick up their needed corn on the cheap.
Conditions remind me of the last century (90s?) when we had a midwest drought and the corn was all stunted. I visited the midwest and saw the fields myself. Barely knee high corn in AUGUST that year…. what wasn’t brown and being plowed under.
I figured it was like shooting fish in a barrel as I was trading commodities at the time. Levered into corn, and as it rose I had a $50k paper profit, with good trailing stops on Friday.
Over the weekend some massive outfit (ADM?) stepped HARD on the market. Monday morning I found the market opened far BELOW my stops, and I went from a $50k profit to a $50k margin call! That was the end of my commodity trading, the end of my IRA (cashed out to pay margin call) and a massive credit card debt that eventually led to a bankruptcy.
Later I figured stocks were a better investment, but no… the manipulation was there, also. This is why I don’t touch paper at all, any more.
