Gold will always have its place. The banks are salivating over a cashless economy where they and swamp can have all the control and set negative interest rates to infinity.
People from other countries are moving to dollar right now because they see trouble and mismanagement with their own banks or economy while Germany is continuing its war on gold perhaps hoping others will follow.

I agree. Doesn’t take much to give them a reason to take down pm’s although I guess in some ways today at least makes a little sense with the strength in the USD and rates.
We’ve been having pretty good closes lately, maybe we’ll regain some ground as the day goes on. Some of the shares are really getting smashed today, I’d like to see them show some life as we get toward the close. Who knows?

yeah, kind of a strange day. Dollar is really ripping higher, rates moving up a bit. Would have thought the Repo action might have a bigger impact. The PPT really has these markets dialed in.
I have a hard time believing the impeachment stuff has anything to do with what’s going on in either the SM or the metals. The demonrats have been hammering Trump since day 1 over anything and everything. I’m not even sure they can get impeachment through the House and they sure won’t get it through the Senate.
Just a big waste of taxpayer money and probably a distraction away from something else.

According to ZH – demand is increasing, $92 Billion today. Whoever is in trouble is now sinking a little faster and likely taking others down with them.
Stock market acts like there’s not a care in the world, but my bet is just like yesterday, smart money will be headed to the exits or the bond market.
Can only hope one of the banks that is in trouble is those thieving bastards that loaned Portugeezer money.

Rich – I had hoped (and prayed) for a different outcome , but apparently it was not to be .
I had also hoped that the PM’s would reward me enough to come to the Grand Opening of your completed resort. For all the years I worked and lived in French speaking Europe , Portugal is the one Latin country that I have yet to set foot in . I’ll save my introduction to meet you in a far better place . May the weeks ahead go easy on you .
