Maya – the second photo (drone?) is probably the most impressive that I have seen

Because of the length , at least the forward drive wheels must be on an articulated truck which brings to mind how is the steam delivered ? I worked in the scrap yard of a uranium mine in my youth and seem to recall seeing thick walled , multi-layered flexible , reinforced rubber hose that I was told was for steam service . I suppose something like that could be used to deliver steam to the Truck and forward cylinders . As a student and later , professionally , I was very impressed by the true engineering skills of the generations before me , in designing behemoths up to the size of Big Boy . All pencil drafting , slide rules , and books of long hand calculated tables !
The loading on the massive connecting rods between cylinders and drive wheels , and the tie connectors between the two drive wheels on each set flailing around at full speed is monumental . Just lubricating the journals had to be an art .
