2000 was a little before me in the shares, I got in circa 02′ but remember 08′ oh too well.
I do understand the liquidity argument, although I’m not sure how much liquidity the shares have to offer this time around. If I remember correctly, in the 08-09′ debacle the HUI was upwards of 600 when it crashed with everything else. Seems to me the liquidity would be found in GLD and to a lesser extent SLV. I don’t know.
Course, we’ve only had one down day in the SM, and on a % basis it wasn’t more than a blip. I guess we’ll see what happens going forward but yesterday was pretty disappointing to say the least for a sector that wasn’t close to overbought.

PS That reminds me when I though of something primitive In case instrument failed. To paste a small leveler they use in mason construction to level things. Paste on at 12 o’clock to 6. Paste one at 9 o’clock to 3.
Besides flying blind your body can be fooled on which way your going. That way you can see the levelers and will tell you if your going up, down, left or right.
When flying in bad weather as a passenger I’d use a glass of water and see which way it was going for boredom therapy.
Forgot to mention they have there new tech glasses for helicopter pilots that allow them to see the terrain through fog so they can see clearly in low or no visibility. Not sure how they work not a tech person.
The news seems contrary to the witness that actually saw it go down. Wasn’t there just what they say they saw and heard.

That sounds plausible. I do suspect the warning caused him to react but either way with flying blind it was likely he would of hit a mountain side. Something was wrong because more than one person said something was wrong with the sound as described as sputtering drawing attention it and one saw it going down then heard a crunch. Another said heard a loud bam or something.
I’m guessing Koby wanted to get there for a game with the girls and didn’t heed warnings if they were warned. In poor weather like that the path they took should of been checked first. Even way north of it, it was really foggy that day.
I know a helicopter crew chief who moved a bit away now who was in both Nam and Germany. The officers knew how quickly things can go wrong in copters so why he was in Germany he got drinking privileges as long as he was sober when they needed to get somewhere.
The pilot you mentioned was right. Celebrity’s have died by taking chances under pressure to get somewhere.
I started to learn to fly Cessna’s at 18 but that’s another story. It was fun.

Yeah, it was poor pilot judgement to fly in difficult weather like that. But like I said… ‘get there’ pressure flying a celebrity entourage. One speculation I read was that he may have panicked at the last minute and pulled up sharply in altitude. Such a condition can cause the rotor wings to ‘stall’ or lose lift. The chopper then noses downward. Not a problem if you are high enough to recover. If you are close to the ground, it is fatal. And yes, I believe he was going way too fast for the limited visibility conditions.
I learned to fly in my 20’s back in Wisconsin. I was a nut about safety and read so many accident reports to learn what could go wrong. There were lots of things wrong about that flight and weather… it was not a series of ‘safe’ decisions. I knew a pilot who flew a small plane for a Brewery company back in WI. He refused to fly the corporate bosses home one night with freezing rain and known icing conditions. They were pissed, and fired him on the spot. He just shrugged it off. “That’s what I get for saving all of our lives… and they don’t even know it!”

The whole thing doesn’t make any sense to me. If it was only visual why was he flying with something like only 90 Ft visibility at those speeds in hilly terrain. Now he has to fly under the clouds and can’t rely on radar at those low levels plus mountain like hilly terrain ahead of them. Witnesses saw the copter drop down fast not run into something so to speak except the ground. He either lost control or couldn’t see where he was going till it was too late. They said the propellers were sputtering and didn’t sound right just before the crash. Sad and there was two kids in there.

It was not a Piper, but a Sikorsky 76B twinjet helicopter. He was flying under VFR… Visual Flight Rules… that require the pilot to see where he is going, maintain ground visibility, and NOT fly into a cloud. He was trying to maintain radar contact for flight tracking, but in low cloud ceiling conditions he was required to fly under the clouds and got lower and lower. Air Traffic control told him he was too low to maintain radar contact with him. Looking at the flight track and altitude readouts that they DO have, it looks like he got into a low altitude flying into a cloud shrouded canyon. He might have realized he was going to fly into a low cloud and so started a left turn to turn around and fly back… a 180 degree turnaround. As he was turning… obviously in fog or a cloud… he flew into the hillside. Last speed readout was 125 mph.

She said there using HIV medicine to treat the virus with good results.
I told her this make sense because the virus works the same talking over the cell as the Coronavirus except it infiltrates the immune system where corona infects the lungs.

It happened right after the piper was told he was flying too low. Why wasn’t he watching his instruments and shouldn’t of been flying that day. I wonder if something went wrong when he changed directions right after and went out of control. Witnesses said it sounded like it was sputtering and one said it looked like it was trying to land and didn’t sound right was flying too low.

FIKT… aviation-speak for “Flight Into Known Terrain”. The Sikorsky helicopter is dual-engine, so it is extremely unlikely there was a total engine failure. The fog and low cloud ceilings were so bad the sheriff and fire helicopters were grounded. Yet a BOLD pilot flying a celebrity entourage is motivated to ‘get there’. There are OLD pilots, and there are BOLD pilots. There are no OLD, BOLD pilots. He was flying 176 mph when he flew into the mountainside.

Omg Some of these people ARE medical idiots! That’s why the sick need people hanging around watching out for them OR they’ll do them harm. Even then they’ll come around when they’re not around.
One mother posted in another site how her child battling for her life after given a vaccine had some idiot come in wanting to give her a vaccine!!

“I also seen elderly patients who were compromised get flu shots back when without real informed consent just pushed on them who then quickly sickened and died.”
=================
I had a friend who contracted AIDS several years ago and was hospitalized for awhile. The antiviral drugs were working, and his T-cell count was coming back up. Some medical IDIOT talked him into getting a Flu shot at the hospital! This is an immune-compromised patient!
In weeks he developed a rare and aggressive spindle-cell cancer that enveloped his heart and lungs. He was dead in two months.

That’s the way it was in 2000 and 2008 so this should be no surprise to anybody.
It’s called liquidity.
The bankers want you to believe in an inverse relation with stocks, but like everything with them, that’s a lie.
That understanding only applies when stocks are going up. When stocks are going up who the hell needs PM’s … right?
Anywho … couple this with all the idiots long the derivatives who need to be parted from their money, and again, this should be no surprise.
I know…I should mind my own business.
Wouldn’t want to spoil a gambler’s fun.
Well … are you having fun yet?

No problem although extra tired if it comes out readable.
I noticed with elderly patients, although not absolute considering other health factors that those who took vitamin supplements survived better and didn’t even get sick many times when viral outbreaks went through. However their were not out and about in the streets they were though exposed in the hospital by other parents or even staff who worked with them. I also seen elderly patients who were compromised get flu shots back when without real informed consent just pushed on them who then quickly sickened and died. These people already sick should have never been given a flu shot.

They have ‘painted’ super lousy charts on the hrly and daily PM’s shares…..unless it all reverses up…..but I notice they haven’t managed to break silver sub 18 and gold is well up.
In the past we would have been smashed apart. The buyers in metal are still there.
