Less in a parabolic move or bull market the usual is people get in before the ex date as it moves up and sell before or just before the ex date and make more money than buying it just before or on the ex date because by then people are selling and the loss in selling the shares after is greater than the divi. You have a greater potential for gains buying before the ex date just in the share price.

Ya know? If we had it to do all over again, the physical gold was a better bet. Triple spot UGLD is up 130% from late 2018 and up 100% up from late May. Our mining shares seem to pay some attention to the Dow headwind, rather than Gold itself.

Gold dust! Battle against disease boosted by precious metal infused coating that KILLS bacteria on phone screens
A pinch of gold is the key ingredient in a new coating that promises to be a major boost to the battle against infections. The substance could help halt disease in its tracks if applied to phones, keyboards and hospital equipment.
The coating is a significant breakthrough, because its light-activated technology successfully kills bacteria in a low light intensity, such as is found in hospital wards and waiting rooms. Previous efforts had required light that was ten times stronger to prove effective.
A new study says that, along with phone screens and keyboards, the bacteria-killing coating should be applied to the inside of catheters and breathing tubes, which are a major source of healthcare-associated infections.
The clever coating is made of tiny clusters of chemically modified gold that are embedded in a polymer with crystal violet — a dye with antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Israeli scientists: ‘In a few weeks, we will have coronavirus vaccine’
Once the vaccine is developed, it will take at least 90 days to complete the regulatory process and potentially more to enter the marketplace.
For the past four years, a team of MIGAL scientists has been developing a vaccine against infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), which causes a bronchial disease affecting poultry. The effectiveness of the vaccine has been proven in preclinical trials carried out at the Veterinary Institute.
In preclinical trials, the team demonstrated that the oral vaccination induces high levels of specific anti-IBV antibodies, Katz said.
“Let’s call it pure luck,” he said. “We decided to choose coronavirus as a model for our system just as a proof of concept for our technology.”
But after scientists sequenced the DNA of the novel coronavirus causing the current worldwide outbreak, the MIGAL researchers examined it and found that the poultry coronavirus has high genetic similarity to the human one, and that it uses the same infection mechanism, which increases the likelihood of achieving an effective human vaccine in a very short period of time, Katz said.
“All we need to do is adjust the system to the new sequence,” he said. “We are in the middle of this process, and hopefully in a few weeks we will have the vaccine in our hands. Yes, in a few weeks, if it all works, we would have a vaccine to prevent coronavirus.”

When I was about 16 I think I read what I thought was a horrific story about doctors searching for immortality used these poor monkeys to see if a head of one monkey transplanted on another Monkey would survive. It survived for awhile but they could not repair the nervous system. Also the monkeys had a immune response rejecting the body.
