I’d still like to see a study of actual people’s blood levels of Se that didn’t get Ebola in same area of break out compared to those that did. That is if you can get permission from them. I do believe it works to protect entry of the virus into the cells.
I thought I’d mention this to you incaise you haven’t come across it.

The only people that can be infected by the 2019-n Coronavirus have less than 98.7 µg/L of Selenium in plasma or serum. Those who have enough Selenium are immune to this and all other enveloped viruses. Selenium can be obtained from Brazil nuts, Selenium pills or Astragalus tea.
This is why only some people get the flu and why others get it infrequently or never at all.
We only found this out in 2015 when Lipinski @ Harvard figured out why some people were immune to Ebola, a fact well documented in medical archives.
Two Brazil nuts a day will do it. An Asia astragalus tea is the primary source of selenium.

Following this initial step the virus enters the target cell cytoplasm by forming hydrophobic spikes that make holes in the membrane lipid bilayer. Formation of such spikes is catalyzed by the reduced form of viral protein disulfide isomerase (PDIred) thus initiating chain of disulfide exchange reactions. Consequently, hydrophobic protein epitopes become exposed, which in the absence of proper chaperones form hydrophobic ‘spikes’ capable of penetrating the host cell membranes.
In this communication evidence is discussed showing that the chain of disulfide exchange events can be inhibited by a small redox molecule – sodium selenite.

Interesting articles and scans a few but NY Times wants a subscription to read. What I scanned showed exposure vis antibodies but there were no tests I saw on serological selenium compared to others. None at all that I saw.

Yes it helps the immune system in other ways also, but you have to read the research paper here:
Persons with above a certain level of selenium in the blood plasma are immune to Ebola… completely! That is what spurred the research. In the presence of enough selenium in the plasma, the virus is unable to bond to the receptors, and is unable to infect a cell. Complete inhibition! It is chemical immunity.
Granted this does not work for all viruses, but it is true for the coronavirus family and others with similar protein keys for attacking receptors on cells. Colds, Flu, COVID, Ebola, among others. The selenium presence stops the viral ability to infect a cell at all.

Virologist are finding more virus at random. They were surprise to find some large viruses as before they were assumed to be no bigger than a certain size which could be easier identified from germs. Corona is a large virus but not like the ones their finding although not deadly so far as I know.
Actually some virus aside from not being harmful to us, aid the host and in turn virus finds a home.
More funding should come their way. They have more understanding of things like polio than they did in the crude past for instance. They have different shapes and forms can capsules. Corona is lipid which makes washing with soap and water better than Alcohol because the soap breaks down the lipid.
Still the immune system has its fall backs. Persay if the cytokine action causes inflammation it can then depending where compromise the protective layers of a cell allowing a virus getting in. Sometimes that barrier can be between the cells of like the respiratory system and the bloodstream then goes systemic. Not to mention direct harm to cells in others.
More attention is needed in watching and disabling the immune system in a cytokine storm.
Maddog, treefrog – agree completely, I’m sure there were several people at my work that had it too. I had something for a couple of weeks but it stayed in my head and never worked into my chest. Wouldn’t surprise me if a third of the people in our countries have already had it.

re: a lot of us may have already had it. there was a really nasty bug that came through this area in january/february. people were calling it “bronchitis.” i had it – it was an ass-kicker, a lot of the symptoms matched the CV-19 profile, lasted three weeks. did i have CV-19? i wish there were a good, cheap, anti-body test available.

SELENIUM, 200mcg daily. Chemically inhibits the virus from attaching to the ACE2. It ought to stop an infection cold if in progress. No further replication allowed when Selenium is administered. Would be an interesting clinical trial, but…. that would foil Bill Gates & his vax. Can’t have that.
