Above title modified from this part:
“public assistance” — a self-reinforcing poverty generator that got ever worse, especially in big cities where de-industrialization started destroying the working-class job base beginning in the 1970s. The catch was that Black America did not ask for or demand an end to those poverty-generating “welfare” programs.
It was the Boomers failure to teach and practice biblical moral values that served the nation for decades and now we reap what was sewn.”
Comment:
There would zero problems with our country, our young whites or young blacks if globalization never existed, AND OR THE COST OF LIVING NUMBERS WAS ACCURATELY CALCULATED.
We all here know how the UNDERSTSTED inflation numbers, after 1970 to 1980 which in turn held down pay raises.
P.S. re James Kunstler. When a writer or author makes a short story a whole lot longer than it has to be, people tend to not want to take the time to read it, and or there is no net bottom line to be gleaned by the reader.
re part:
“The economic collapse underway is intensifying these quandaries, paradoxes, and predicaments because from now on life is going to get much more difficult for everybody in the USA.”
Comment: The collapse has unfolded since the peak of US prosperity in 1970. What collapse is UNDERWAY, now imo is the BLOW OFF bottom. The time for pessimism, that will require everybody to get more serious about what actions they can take, what behaviors they can follow, in order to remain civilized. Was in 1970. Its too late now to be pessimistic. Like the Dr. Just told you, you have lung cancer. 30 years ago was the time to stop smoking.
