I call BULLS#!T on the FAKE NEWS headline about ‘mandatory highway stop testing’ on Oahu. And the followup speculative fear-mongering about what will come next!
Here’s the facts: Hawaii just implemented 5,000 tests/day for free… on demand… for anyone. Results in 3 days. The demand was so high at multiple locations that… despite appointment time designations, there were miles-long lines of cars thru neighborhoods waiting to get to the testing sites. Therefore, the local authorities sought out a site that would accommodate miles long strings of cars. They got permission to shut down one of several highways over the mountain range on Oahu… happens to be the H3 freeway… which has a tunnel thru the mountain, and several miles of freeway on either side. So the testing sites will be situated inside the tunnels where they are sheltered, and can handle miles-long strings of cars.
The freeway segment will be shut down for the testing. The testing is VOLUNTARY and ON DEMAND…. it is not mandatory, and positive tests will not be known for days, so no one will be “kidnapped” into quarantine. As is the present case, positive tests will be contacted and advised to self-isolate.
The rest is conspiracy theory speculation about the future that no one knows.
