Re something ain’t right. When The factory Puts An Alarm System In Your Car Without You Ordering It

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 14:13 on September 2, 2020

My son gets ready to leave on a trip. Stupid car won’t start. 2003 Malibu with very low miles on it. So I loaned him my car. Next day, we try me banking on the fuel tank as he cranks. No luck. If it starts after banging, its the $1200 fuel pump in the gas tank were it doesn’t belong. No check engine lite to scan.

Next, sounds like its out of gas, maybe gas gage is not reading right, so lets put 5 gallons of gas in it, but FIRST, lets google it…..

A video says, turn ignition on, the security lite will be blinking.

After 10 full minutes, the blinking will stop.

Turn key off, then start the car. And it STARTS!!

We were ready to have it towed. Then the mechanic will spend time trying to figure it out, may blame and change the fuel pump, or filter, or some other bad diagnosis. This situation is just a money grab, or why isn’t the “no start procedure” on the sun visor, or glove box door. You ask any mechanic, which I did, what they would do FIRST on a no start. They don’t think or know about this.

Bottom line: Every part or system should be a paid for option. If you want to save money on a new car, you should be able to leave out the air bag or alarm system, and save about $1 or $2,000, you should not have to pay for them.  If the insurance companies want them installed, then the insurance companies should be liable for no start costs, and or death and injury’s from a blowing up airbag.
