Lol Yes you know your sewing business. Your right, I think some of them assemble too much of the garment before the zipper. I can’t be sure I don’t remember much about it now it was so long ago but I seem to remember something about that or seeing some of it. I wonder how many can sew today.
You made me think maybe I should or asked my great grandmother to leave me her sewing machine. It probably wasn’t a ordinary one after what your talked about.
I was happy with a Singer of way back.

I’m not understanding too much about what government did or who wanted who in banks but really messed up. How did they get away with that. People create things and get a good thing going and they have to ruin it. It also has to do with the spirit of things like made here in that town or sold in this and that store. I remember hearing elders talk about how they got something on sale at certain stores someone else had to pay full price. They tooK pride and also coming out of the depression although past I could pick it up. Funny they could all sew so I guess coming out of depression store bought was a sort of status. You don’t really see that anymore. Unfortunately came with it was baby’s bottle fed which isn’t as good.Times we’re pretty good then.

computers ,cell phones ..if it requires large numbers of workers. Our Government sells us out for campaign money ,bribery and entry into another country’s Banking system .Fucking Banks use credit to control the world .They were behind the loss of jobs in the greatest manufacturing country in the world !!

The public has no idea how it worked !   It was very little to do  about LOW wages that was a small factor .

That could be fixed by re tooling the manufacturing  process making it more productive for each worker .

Thats how you compete with cheap labor ,the wages were are not that important in a cost anaylsis ..

was adapting the FOOT  thats the thing that holds the fabric down a zipper foot is very narrow 1/8″ wide

you sew down the left side and up the right side ..an 18 inch zipper sewer could do 80 doz a day…the zipper was the second thing done ..before it was assembled (NOT the LAST) thing done…most home workers try to do it last ,that makes it almost impossible to do right,and fast….

The key was to add the small parts first before the Garment got too big to handle set the pockets first,even button holes were done first thing then as the Garment got assembled it got slower to handle.Buttons were done last .Lots of prep like hemming sleeves and putting elastic on sleeves,making collars were done before anything was assembled .The preparation before   assembly  was key to speed. .

It was my job to plan how it was assembled ,and who did what and train everyone …Our employees were happy ,some worked twenty years for my Father,then asked to come back to work for me after they raised their family .NO Union, we always treated them respectfully even when you had to criticize their WORK ,NEVER do a personal criticism .I loved that business ..but the Government gave the JOBS away because it required lots of employees .They made deals that allowed them into a developing country where they would get into the BANKING and Insurance business if we gave them the business that employed lots more people .  IT had LITTLE to do with LOW wages as most people think today ,it was Government that SOLD US  OUT so they could get into Banking and Insurance in exchange .TRUMP understands it very well ,how it worked…..He’s trying to undo some of it..

Amazing machines, sounded like very productive people. They just need good management like yours to find what they’d be best at. Most people seemed to have the biggest problem with zippers for some reason, don’t know why. That was home sewing though.

Women have amazing hand eye coordination examples making shoulder seams 2per Garment 250 doz garments in 8 hours,setting collars 130 doz in 8 hours,setting sleeves (2)80 doz,set pockets 80 dozen in 8 hours.Hemming bottom of dress 100 doz in 8 hours.  YES it all averages at 25 pieces per minute and more ! button holes 100 doz in 3 hours with 5 holes per dress,button sewer the same ..they were fast machines She never touched the button ..dropped a 500 box of buttons into a hopper ,they get turned right side up and automatically slide down a chute ,all she does is press a petal and line things up…

I always had the fastest machines available..strength was not a factor ,just “good hands”…women were 50 % faster than men…The fastest women were Italian,Portuguese,Cuban…Blacks were great button Hole and button sewers ..their hands were too big for fine work like Collars ,pockets…..My skill was matching the employee to with the job..people are very different…sometimes a job required a “crazy” person to do a “crazy job” example I had a girl that sewed a round collar all the way around without stopping at 1/4 inch seam . making 100 doz in 8 hours …boy could she focus ,she was slightly autistic …..average person couldent do that …The trick is matching each person to each job ,I could tell who could do what by looking at their handwritting when they filled out an application !   Yes I could !

The machines were just as amazing sewing SINGER 3000 -5000 Union Special 3000 stitches a minute and one machine made by Rimoldi in Italy sewed 8000 stitches per minute .and I would change the pully on each machine to the fastest speed that the women could handle ,sometimes I slowed it down to match the skill of the women …too fast causes errors  ..

the FUNDS report and today was my biggest one day gain in 5 years..ta da…..

Broke out to the upside today. If it doesn’t gap up Monday, it will probably go back and test the support around $24.50 area.

I agree. How are chips going to influence performance? You already know who produces more than another. There maybe some physical factors in mind too like arthritis or other issues. It’s just a violation of privacy and a health risk. They are seen only as laborers not as people, and people that can move on to something else.
My great grandmother handled the sewing machine like a Thompson machine gun.She was fast and experienced which has something to do with it too. She’d call me as a kid in her Hungarian accent to come here. She’s measure me and few minutes later I had a dress. She was a professional seamstress though had her own business that included hand beaded work.
She started teaching me to sew at 4 years old. Never thought of it as a Carrear though but she did very well for herself. Hind site I would of liked to learn more from her but we lived in different states when I turned 6 and only visited each other picking things up here and there.
Some people would consider doing the same thing over and over again as Monotonous.
She made different things though including hats coats and purses. It appears women can handle repetition better than men for the most part. I’ve had men tell me while crocheting that they thought that would drive them crazy just making baby things.

Monday 12 October 2020 is Canada’s Thanksgiving Day so the Canadian markets will be closed. [Let Them Eat Turkey]

Monday is also Columbus Day in the US.

Columbus Day is one of those odd US holidays when banks and federal offices are closed, mail isn’t delivered… BUT the US stock markets are open as usual, as are many other businesses.

The Canadian markets will reopen on Tuesday morning.

A few more days like today and our sell off will become like a hazy nightmare dissipating in the light of day.

Commodities are priced in Dopy/Dollars, So Dopey/Dollars which provides Dopey/Prices moves creates Dopey/Comex prices, and that stupidity in turn moves the Dopey/Stock prices.

So in a sense, re commodities and related stocks, its just “exchange rates” creating the stock price. So granted, a byproduct of higher prices can cause buying, and lower prices cause selling.

In reality, supply/demand comes into play after a dopey/price gets so Dopey/Distorted that the supply gets too big or too small, profits get too big or too small, causing bankruptcies or mal-investment. price. That’s how Oil went to $145/bbl and crashed to $28/bbl.

Note: For a while there, Gold and US Dopey were going up together. Maybe because higher Gold prices did not cause over production and crash of Gold like it did to oil.

Been buying some Oil stox to play the Trump win and get a nice yield doing it….yesterday saw first signs of some buying in the sector…today that rally is getting smashed, as the Algo’s see a chance to sell even more short……ET costs u over 20 % to short it..yet the machines just pile in…

PM stox are well sold as well, they shud be flying here on the price of Au and G…but no the sellers just pile in.

Chips to pace performance ..one size does not fit all  ..I did time & motion study on Piece workers for 40 years .40 % 0f people do 80 % of the work .MOTIVATION  for more money does not work for all of them.

Comfort level impedes them . the fastest set the pace ,the rest need to know where they measure up to .

150 employeess all on piece work .Keep the pressure on the slowest to get the most out of them.They all get paid at least min wage ,but the fastest usually earn double what slowest earn. The fastest motivate themselves .One size chip will not work,all the slowest will quit or be fired, if they’re dishonest.Never fired an employee for being slower than another ,you wont have any employees left . Get all of them to do their best . One size chip wont work no more than one size shoe will fit all .

100 % women employees middle aged mostly ..20 to 65 years old .

The three highest producers one was 23 years old,30 years old  the other 65 .. ..age not a factor !
