Vol today is over 6000 % times normal…34 mill plus versus 550 k normal and the shorts sold more another 3 %…..something is up….

I wonder when these “kids” they talk about start playing the futures markets.

Shorting never made sense to me. I don’t think anybody has a right to borrow my shares and sell them into the market as if I’m selling out. I could be a buy and hold guy, like most people, and along comes some other guy and sells??

Years ago I checked my statement, and I saw a $50 credit entry from Schwab. So I call them to ask about it. He said, because I have a margin and can borrow Schwabs money, Schwab can lend my XYZ shares out. While they were loaned out, and dividend payment came, and they couldn’t let the shorter have it so they gave it to me.

And if TPTB think Shorting is ok, then I want the ability to short real estate. If rates are very low, and prices are high? Lets short them. I’ve seen some big $50 million dollar mansions drop to $25 million, I think Michael Jacksons place did something like that. And recently the shopping mall near by is BUSTED, and worthless.

Far far less than what was paid for it. They are saying its so cheap, its worth only the land value, MINUS the cost of removing the structures, and convert it all to apartments.

re. The foreign miners from Canada that branched out to other countries, before the natives bothered to dig.

Its like an apartment where you had cheap rent for a very long time, ($800/mo) and suddenly the land lord finds out he’s too cheap, and can get more, so jacks it up to $1800/mo.

I think we will see a lot of this as populism or independence moves grow. The possible side effect might be less over all production, to keep supplies tighter. Then higher prices, and better profits and higher share prices for the other miners.

This is gonna get wilder I think…..as it is clear that Algos’ sell every up gap opening in PM’s shares, as the mkt invariably closes the gap, that day…..How long will they keep that up, when the stock is gapping 5 or 10 % and not filling the gap…..

By the way a number of PM stox are still adding to shorts……KGC doubled its short ystdy !!!!!

Plus what Shortsqueeze reports is the official NYSE/NAsdog possy’s, that doesn’t include the likes of GS’s BlackPool mkt and it sure doesn’t include offshore mkts like Germany, where all sorts of dodgy trading goes on…..I’d guess the shorts are way bigger elsewhere.

I’m glad you posted that. I have some SBSW to cover PGMs, its got a Div and a P/E gold is up and it sitting 1.2% down today. So I look it up and sure enough, they have a mine in Zimbabwe. I have a little profit on it anyway, but probably should dump it. Now 1.77% down. Down on an up day I don’t like.

The scum are now virtually the only seller out there, standing there saying Metals will not rise, because we say so…….not clever……they are now having to admit they rig the mkts…..how long before people make the connection to the SM….etc.

The bullion bank silver short on Comex is about 100m ounces and there is no liquidity in London. It won’t take much to put a rocket under the price, as we are now seeing. Could destabilise all PM contracts.

Zimbabwe miners say foreign-exchange rule could trigger crisis

Mining companies in Zimbabwe said a central-bank requirement compelling them to surrender more foreign exchange earned from mineral exports will push their operations to the brink.

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe on Jan. 8 announced that exporters must now hand over 40% of their foreign currency earnings, up from 30%, which is then paid out in the local currency.
