If the 1970s repeats itself, climbing prices will attract the Feds attention, and start raising rates. BUT! They will be “timid” about it, and raise them slightly, but never enough stop the climbing prices. In other wards they’ll be “behind the curve” all the way up until the rates get so ridiculously high, that people sell out cash out and switch over to 18% bank CD rates.
