I don’t know how they are getting away with all this increased national debt. Its like a bunch of KIDS are illegally using the credit card of a deceased person, going hog wild spending with it, because its still working.

But I see signs that don’t make sense too. Our currencies are basically pegged. So as Dollar goes up to make imports cheaper, Yuan goes up too.

When Dollar goes down to make imports cost more, same thing happens in China. So the recent strong Dollar/Yuan is making both of us import to help the others sell.

Also China was always an ally. So was USSR always historically an ally. Also I don’t trust anything the Media suggests or implies.  I myself know Americans that have things made over there.

I wouldn’t mind some of the pressure being taken off us … even though we know it is a BS reason. Interest rates rise high enough to rival the rate of inflation and the whole shebang implodes.

I see rates have come back in to 1.72%

Roger Babson gained fame by being the only economist who called the coming of the 1929 crash.  The only book I got from my father’s office after he passed is “If  Inflation Comes” (what you can do about it) by Roger Babson.  1943 edition.  My father signed the book from his home, probably around that date.

Babson gives the pretty much standard understanding of inflation for that time, and what an individual can do about it.  I read the book years ago.  What Babson never dreamed about is the magnitude of artificial ‘financial engineering’ that we have today, building an ever higher house of cards and debt.  It just wasn’t possible in his day.   So we are deep in uncharted territory.  When (not if) this collapses, the whole world will implode like has never been seen in history.

Very true we have heard the same story many times … on the other hand if we are in terminal decline it could happen over decades. How long did Rome take to fall?

I’m just hoping some fool-fools don’t push the red button! All else is secondary.

Kunstler has been talking the same game for quite some time.  He always makes sense to me, but like a lot of the other “Party’s over; time to pay the piper” stuff I have read (and believe), I’m still waiting to see it happen.  Time will tell.

Not real upbeat is he. Are we going into a depression… with some sort of lesser technology situation? Millions working in the fields?

It sure does look like the paper edifice is rocking a bit. So much debt! Take bulldozers and push it all into a giant pit and cover it up. That’ll be the endgame.

QE to infinity. Quantity vs quality the Democratic trademark across the board. They think they can QE out of deflation but what big investors are buying inflation protection stocks. It’s not working. Shortages aren’t inflation under this circumstance. Maybe your check went to the border to pay for Bidens new citizens.

Moggy sent me a link and then found some myself that they ran out of money. They’re still working on it.
In my case I got two checks and the people there won’t help me send it back. They don’t know what to do so got transferred and transferred and transferred finally to a recording.
I talked to my tax man he said if you do send it back since it came in a deposit make sure you keep proof. I couldn’t send it back via bank because it all came in one check cuz I’d have to send mine back with it. They said they couldn’t split it up. Always something to emulate waited energy.
