Sure the AU and AG is boring so why not try something else? Recently bought some NUE and X, and just now got some SXC. It has a p/e and a div. Chart looks good, what the hell?
What the hell are Green Convertible Notes?? Disregard The Prior Post re MP Materials, Don’t Buy Any.
I was on that stock a few times, and recently it started sliding so I sold out what little I had yesterday. Turns out they made an announcement:
“MP Materials Corp. is said to announce the pricing of an offering of about $600 million principal amount of its approx 0.25% Green Convertible Senior Notes”
I don’t believe in human caused climate change, and it looks like some kind of bribery, so now I don’t like the stock. So they can shove it. I heard Tesla makes a lot of money from normal car makers that have to contribute to Tesla re carbon foot stink smell nonsense. LOL
I’ve been listening to finance genus’s to find out all this talk about inflation when we’re in a deflation. That the Fed is reactionary and can’t get the numbers up so is trying to QE out but not working.
Only when Fed starts selling treasuries to get money will it be inflationary but only fir a time because they’ll start buying them again.
They’re a big mess.
Here’s a link that could make your head spin.
It’s long but worth listening to when you have the time and some parts are funny.
The Old Molycorp, This Story Is Reversing: The collapse of American rare earth mining — and lessons learned
New ticker from June, MP. Dipping now but probably a good rare earth bet.
Parts:
Recently there have been stirrings of interest in repatriating rare earth production to the United States. The U.S. military has become acutely aware of its dependence on China, Therefore, it is the government’s responsibility to set the stage for increased American rare earth production.
Reducing red tape and bureaucratic inertia. there is no reason that permitting a mine in the United States should take five times longer than it does in Canada or Australia. (there were reasons until we crashed in 2008, and everything had to change)
In 1952, Mountain Pass opened. First explored as a uranium deposit, it soon supplied rare earths for the electronic needs of the Cold War economy. Until the 1990s, it stood alone as the only major source of rare earths worldwide.
By 2002, however, the mine was defunct. In the eyes of the U.S. government and major manufacturers, it no longer made sense to acquire rare earths from a U.S. source subject to stringent environmental regulations. (During Trump this reversed)
Instead, the hard business of extracting useful minerals was exported to other countries, where environmental damage was safely out of sight. China happily obliged, allowing environmental harm to proliferate so long as the costs of rare earth mining were kept down.
As the company’s fortunes dwindled, its new CEO oversaw much of Molycorp’s most profitable assets being transferred to Chinese-linked Neo Materials, where he formerly served as CEO. Molycorp’s final remaining husk declared bankruptcy in 2014.

ipso facto @ 21:55 Re EVERGREEN Ship
Long ago A friend of mine flight engineer flew cargo for Evergreen Airlines. Another friend worked at American Airlines airport ground cargo. I found out later from him, Evergreen Air was really the CIA, but the flight engineer guy denied it. Later I read it was true and that Evergreen was out of business.
I wonder if that big grounded ship is CIA?
D’oh! Better start checking the classifieds Cap’n

Falsity and deception are big themes.

Yep he does bash GB on manipulation despite it is manipulated.
I can’t speak for him but I think he thinks in trading terms since everything seems to be manipulated is that things can only be manipulated for so long but not the long term but short term. Except gold cuz there’s nothing short term about it !!
Mass Media Story: “Talk of De-Globalization Is Fashionable But Wrong” This Bozo Author Is A Decade Plus Late And A Dollar Short
Parts:
“Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic struck, people have been predicting that it will cause nations to turn inward—to de-globalize, decouple from other nations, and reshore production of vital goods”
Comment: This started after 9/11, 2008 and more so during Trump.
“At the end of his essay Williamson acknowledges that world trade in goods and services, which had grown for decades, has stalled at just over 60% since 2008, while inflows of foreign direct investment have fallen by almost half since their 2007 peak. But he echoes McKinsey & Co. in arguing that cross-border transmission of knowledge and data has continued to grow at a rapid clip. Such flows used to occur inside multinational corporations but they have become more widely available, which is “eroding” the advantage of multinationals over other companies, he writes. In other words, globalization isn’t dead. ”
Comment:
Wishful thinking. Sorry masters planners of the financial universe, the Y2k, Dot Com bust, Then the Recession in 2001, Then the Arabs blasted you when you were down, and they tried to over ride it all with low rates, no down payments real estate Home Depot boom lasted to 2008.
Now we don’t even have to borrow the stupid money. They force it on us. It comes in the mail or direct deposits. When will they give us free motor homes and small boats to enjoy life? See the USA in your Chevrolet. With Chrome Bumpers and nothing under the hood but a motor. And be able to change the plugs points and condenser at the Drag Strip.
I’m so glad I was born early enough to catch the good ole days.
