Before that occurred blacks owned homes and had steady jobs.
When manpower came out giving free education to anyone eligible which many minority’s signed up they wanted to shut it down back in the beginning 70s.
I got involved and wrote a petition giving to the house the senate and president Nixon. It turned out I was notified I got in the congressional records and saved the schools across the country for another 5 years. I wrote a bit but one quote they used for their manpower billboards when I said their not looking for a handout but a hand. My point in the letter was they could either pay welfare or pay to help produce working class people that pay taxes. Which is it??

Like the unemployment thing now human nature. If their better off not working only the self respecting independent will work and then only if they can afford ITV so why should the non working get rewarded more than the working? How is that helping anything with idol people and rising crime?
If blacks are so oppressed why is it that more blacks had homes in the 60 s when there was open discrimination than now? Why is it that more blacks had two parent homes in the 60s and before then now?

Equity won’t do any good except for as Ororeef mentioned a reverse mortgage but part of America’s living standards after post war 11 was inheritance in the mix to give a leg up to inflation that might get stolen. I know someone now who has to move from her mothers home because she put a reverse mortgage and passed away and now rents are way over priced.
Plus buying a new home at a higher price some don’t factor in higher taxes and insurance. Selling and buying doesn’t do much good if your equity is equal anyway or worse where it cost you more to get less.
Perhaps that’s why the one video here talking about lumber prices we’re going up because people selling in places like NY getting out and building their own homes.
