We are part of that problem. We are all guilty to a degree. Some much more than others.
We allowed government to to do this to our kids and the future.
If someone ask you what is one thing from your childhood kids today wouldn’t understand what would it be.
I saw a similar question and the answers we all could relate to.
Like girls had to wear dresses to school even when it was freezing outside.
There was a whole bunch of blast from the past answers.
All but one or two that is a big part of what evolved today.
What did we do kids don’t do today besides learn the Bible and know the meaning of Christmas or Easter and to others perhaps Hanukkah.
We had responsibilities called chores.
Two, girls learned to cook and make their own cloths, sweaters, socks, purses, blankets, rugs, curtains and more. Most had at least one or more of these skills.
Most of both sexes could grow food, learned to hunt, and fish and clean their own catch. Most knew the rule you kill it you clean it.
Most had at least some exposure to farm life.
Boys learned to build and fix things.
We both could find jobs to earn our own money. Be mowing lawns, shoveling snow, a paper route, babysitting, bake sale, lemonade stands, washing cars and so forth.
I even had drama comedy shows and carnivals In my back yard and charged a few cents admission back then.
I even learned through that it cost money to run a business and my parents too when I was about 10 yrs old for having to get rid of all those trees I collected after Christmas for a war scene. They found a forest in the back yard. I even got a dud hand grenade from a neighbor throw a brother and learned through my vet father you can’t trust duds!!! Think it was a practice grenade.
Point is we were learning to independent, self sufficient producers. We made things. If we wanted something other than basics we worked for it or made it.
Then we got out in the workforce and there were plenty of manufacturing jobs. We weren’t strangers to building. Men could go out get a good job building cars. Furniture, metal craft, steel, air craft on and on.
So what did we turn around and do? Not teach these skills to our kids. Yes some of us did in some ways but not like back when because we became too busy and now mom working too.
The government encouraged it. The government through school made them think that were supposed to do everything for them. The only responsibility was their homework and then learn to hate their country. They now are the consumers just like their proud parents the politicians.
If tshtf today how many of the today’s generation would know any of these skills?
Like the constitution, if they never learned it, it would become easy to take it from them.
