Below a response I sent to an editorial writer that was complaining about all the yelling and nastiness at school board meetings, all the anger and chaos etc and calling for the people to try to have manners.

Lane,
Regarding all the 60 years of growing chaos? A rule of thumb. When the Right goes too far, the Left pops up, and when the Left goes too far, the right pops up. For example.
I remember seeing old historic films of the KKK marching in Washington DC, I remember White only and Collared only signs on bath rooms and water fountains when my father took us kids on vacation to Luray Caverns in Va. I remember we were not allowed to see Elvis Presley from the waist down when he gyrated while singing, and if your girlfriend got pregnant, she had to leave town, the Right went too far.
Starting in the 1960s the Left started popping up. Sex drugs and alcohol on TV and movies. We lived three houses from the Park Ave school in Amityville, nice neighborhood, but my two boys were bussed to the North Amityville school, called “bussing” to a far less desirable neighborhood. One time they tried to steal my sons sneakers while he was wearing them.
By 1968, I knew something was wrong in America when they passed the “Gun Control Act Of 1968” no more mail orders allowed and many other “bad manners” foisted on good fun loving citizens because Lee Harvey Oswald used a mail order rifle. There is no such thing as (the low state of) Common Sense Gun Laws. I can go on forever but no time and I’m sure you’re not interested. I have three friends exactly like you.
When spending 40 hours fabricating a prototype precision sheet metal part, and the last 1 hour is precision bending the job up. during the 40 hours, lay out, cutting size, shearing, punching, notching etc you have to avoid “accumulation of error” along the way, like bowling 300.
Since the left popped up in the 1960s, and more so since 1970, many well intentioned Left type goals and accomplishments have simply gone way too far, telling us what light bulbs to use, open borders leading to 9/11, 115% mortgage loans leading to the 2008 financial crisis, and the Right started popping back up. Because of the “accumulation of error” Change is inevitable, so the left has to embrace it.
Best regards,
