Re Chip Shortage, And Welfare for Electronics Parts Fabricators Distributors, Retailers and All The Middle Men and Auto Mechanics In Between

Part of story, beginning of a new reversal back to basics?

“One company has reverted to mechanical dials on some cheaper models instead of digital displays so that those chips can be used for more expensive models.”

The sentence above amused me because I like the old technology better with knobs. Like the old school washing machine we bought. The digital one we had, had too many computer problems.  Ya know even a mechanical cooking timer is so simple to use. Or mechanical alarm clock to. Even the older 4X4 vehicles had a mechanical handle on the floor and you simply shove the handle to enter four wheel drive position. So what if the woman have trouble with that.

The electronic push button 4X4 modern way sucks. I’ve had functioning problems with them on occasion when you need it on a snow day no less. Relays behind the kick panel, solenoids, vacuum lines, the switch, etc.  Always something goes bad. Too many parts depending on each other to make a simple shift. Unneeded welfare parts. It’s called in my view WELFARE electronics parts.

Sometimes these unneeded computerized safety systems in aircraft 737 Max twice sends the plane straight nose down into the Ocean against the Pilots skills or ability. Many other crashes as per Air Disasters TV show. Did you ever use the drive up window at McDonald’s  on a rainy day? And then the stupid power window won’t go back up?? And no over ride crank handle? How about the electronic fuel pump in the fuel tank?? $1500 repair. It used to be a $10 mechanical part that had twp bolts and took 10 minutes to change. More welfare with the electronic one. Occasionally the Air Bags kill someone. I myself don’t want an airbag. Or anti lock brakes. I’m a careful driver, and don’t drive drunk.

Hopefully things will get simpler cheaper and better again out of necessity after the “Big One” Elizabeth.
