Netherlands Scrambles To Abolish Dividend Tax After Shell Says It’s Moving Its Tax Base To The U.K.

Once again, ‘green’ grandstanding and virtue signaling has come back to bite people square in the ‘common sense’ arse. The latest example comes from the Netherlands.

Green activists caused “political uproar” when burdensome taxes against multinationals were considering being lifted several years ago. Now, those taxes have forced major corporations like Shell and Unilever out of the country.

Hours after Shell announced it would end its dual share structure and move its entire tax base to the U.K., the Netherlands is scrambling to try and keep the oil major within its borders.

The fiat currency differentials are a zero sum game. (one gains and the other loses)

They don’t matter.

Although when it becomes recognized the dollar is no longer the world’s reserve currency the reaction in metals / commodities should be profound.

We’ll see what happens. The USD makes no sense to me other than every other fiat currency is garbage. Given our debt in the US, nothing else makes sense.

At some point I’d have to believe the USD crumbles and pm’s take off. Just not sure I’ll be around when it finally happens.

Thing is Michael Oliver is correct in pointing out $25.40ish on digital silver is the momentum breakout point. Once it has a weekly close above that level the cat is out of the bag on the upside.

Then you go back to Cliff High’s work, and Oliver’s too, and you are potentially looking at somewhere north of $600.

So if I have to live through a little pullback no problemo.

Futures open interest on silver still has a long way to go before it reaches previous extremes.

Once PM share option expiries pass this Friday, hopefully we will be off to the races.

Why is the Dollar so strong….a while back everyone was v bearish the Dollar…yet tks to the Rig is never really stayed weak, as everytime it looked weak, or when any No’s came out the scum bid it….then slowly the bears gave in and now all the talk is of a strong dollar, in the near future.

That and the fact that u still can get some positive rates, on the dollar, unlike the Euro etc……but I would say the Rig has won this one, except that they are still bidding it when ever they intervene elsewhere like today, before too long it will be stupidly strong…then what will the scum do.

Captain – you called it. Somehow I think we have to go back below $1850 and maybe $24 Silver.

HUI might have to get another look at 260 as well.

Spoke to a serious farmer the other day, he said he was told by some major UK farm agents, that input prices are running at 22 % pa in the UK, as of now !!!!!!!

European natural gas prices surged as much as 12% Tuesday after Germany’s energy regulator unexpectedly suspended a key steop in the approval process for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
