Hopefully like you his immune system will get rid of it the first week and he won’t get or much of the inflammatory response the second. But since there’s therapeutics why take to chance. If he gets congested he needs to clear it but no steroids the first week as it inhibits the immune system stopping the replication. But antibiotic prophylaxis to prevent pneumonia from fluid buildup. Also moving around and coughing. With pediatrics who didn’t understand that I’d get them to laugh hard by clowning around. It worked just as good in some cases

Yeah quinine but you don’t know if your getting enough to be therapeutic and can get it in tonic water too but same issue. The more bitter “ without sugar” the more quinine.
It’s not just the zinc. Ivermectin is a multi anti this and that and has anti-inflammatory effects lowering mucus in the lungs and inhibiting inflammatory response from the immune system cytokines.
It has benefit throughout the infection if taken in the right dose to most. Quinine does not as far as I know but will help the first week to stop viral replication if your getting enough.
You can also get quinine on Amazon but it can take too long when you need it now and could get ivermectin instead.

It comes in a tube with a picture of a horse on it. It’s meant for a thousand pound horse but has gradations of 50 pounds. So you can measure your own weight-dose out, once a day for 5 days and there you are. I’ve just taken it on a spoon mildly apple flavor and not too distasteful.

I would echo treefrog and say you should try the local feed stores first. If they don’t have it you can get it at Amazon. It’s gone up a lot in price but is still available.
