He was more conservative than anyone after him. The only way we could have stymied the America Last Globalists, would be if the 1960s manufactures and working class Americans, had a separate independent Media outlet to promote a “Buy American, boycott imports” agenda. Instead of the opposite one we were fed…
“We don’t want those dirty polluting factory jobs” “We don’t want or need the rust belt” “We are too good for those menial jobs” “We are going to be a high tech economy” “American consumers will get cheaper higher quality imported products”.
I knew back in the 1970s, that globalization was a huge mistake and bad for our country and bad entry level living standards. Also lower profits and or bankruptcy for domestic producers that had unfair competition from other nations. Low profits and low wages is net lower taxes coming in. And here we are with a $28 Trillion credit card bill and a virus epidemic. Well, we ain’t going to pay the tab. The Bankers or Fed are doing a “Rain Dance” and somebody’s gunna lose.
Globalization? Did you ever go to dinner with five or six couples? And you and your wife are NOT big eaters. You ordered a chicken parm dinner each. Then the other slobs that want to get make sure they get their money’s worth at bill or check time, are ordering side dishes, appetizers, salads mixed drinks and bottles of wine. Then they order a bunch of fancy deserts. And the bill gets split evenly.
You end up with fat slob winners and conservative losers at the table. The Americans were the losers with open borders and globalization. All the socialist slob countries around the world were the fat slob winners. Trump told everybody here about it.
