Wow today turned out to be a decent day. Woo Hoo!
yeah, 250 was a struggle for some reason so good to see it bust a little. Should get us to 260 where the heavy lifting needs to take place, but I’d think we’ll get there quickly.
250 in the rear view mirror.
hold, baby, hold !!!
Ha, blind squirrels and such…
I’d like to see the shares doing better but at least the SM doesn’t seem to be affecting them. They might just rally into the close if we can hold $1800 today. Never know.
All these charts look like bottoms to me, also note the big volume days that are often at blow off bottoms. (and tops)

Pretty much all the foods and energy futures charts are way up during Biden. And doing so with a higher Dollar? Is it from higher demand? Or just rebounding from prices that were too low for too long? Or is more production getting local USA where it costs more, but Americans get the business. The good thing about higher prices, it promotes investment and more production.

Note, when USD goes up, all the others go inverse down, so we import cheaper and more. A discount on imports, and a tariff on our exports. Welfare for the other nations, and a tax on the USA.
We have to be thankful and amazed; that things are still this good here. With a $28 trillion national debt. But then again, who is really the vulnerable “burdened vehicle”? The lender or Bond investors, or the debtor borrowers, the USA tax payers?
I say the tax payers are the winners, because the debt is too big to pay. Time will tell. LOL
Good call looking for 1800 Plus…..I am shocked they have allowed it !!!!!
Pfizer’s Covid-19 Pill Authorized in U.S.
But it doesn’t come without side effects because you have to take another drug ritonavir with it.
Some researchers have raised safety concerns, because Paxlovid is taken with another drug. The second drug, called ritonavir, helps Paxlovid fight the virus longer, but can cause side effects when taken with certain widely used heart and cholesterol medicines.
Under the authorization, the FDA said Paxlovid shouldn’t be used with certain drugs for conditions including cancer, irregular heart rhythms and depression.
The FDA also recommended against giving Paxlovid to patients with severe kidney disease or liver impairment and said patients with moderate kidney issues should take a reduced dose. In patients with moderate renal impairment, a reduced Paxlovid dose is needed, it said.
European health regulators, who are reviewing Pfizer’s application for Paxlovid clearance, recently issued preliminary guidelines recommending that people don’t use it if they are pregnant or are trying to get pregnant, or if they are taking certain medicines or have severely reduced kidney or liver function.
Pfizer has said it expects doctors and pharmacists will find most of the drug interactions to be manageable.
Under the authorization, patients age 12 and older should begin a course of treatment within several days of symptoms emerging to prevent their cases from turning serious and requiring hospitalization.
People with a prescription would take two Paxlovid pills and one ritonavir pill twice a day for five days.
Pfizer has licensed Paxlovid’s formula so that generic drugmakers can make it for low- and middle-income countries.
Pfizer is also studying the drug in a separate study in adults at lower risk of developing severe disease, including vaccinated individuals.
but I smell funds short covering a little too and NEM is well off the lows right now.

Kyrgyzstan pushing for out-of-court settlement with Centerra
Kyrgyzstan is pushing for an out-of-court settlement with Canada’s Centerra Gold to resolve a dispute in which the state seized the company’s Kumtor mine and both sides launched legal challenges, a source close to the government said.
Centerra in May kicked off arbitration against the Kyrgyzstan government, after it took over the country’s biggest mine for allegedly posing danger to human lives or the environment.
A Kyrgyzstan court imposed $3.1 billion fine on Kumtor Gold Company (KGC), which operates the 550,000-ounce gold mine, after ruling that the firm had violated environmental laws by placing waste rock on glaciers.
Centerra and Kyrgyzstan have a long history of disputes over how to share profit from the former Soviet republic’s biggest industrial enterprise, the Kumtor mine.
International arbitration proceedings are costly processes that can last years.
A potential settlement between the parties was discussed at a meeting in Geneva that took place on Sept. 28-30, the source close to the government and a second source with knowledge said.
The source close to the government added that Kyrgyzstan is still keen to find an out-of-court settlement within the next few weeks after the September meeting ended without a deal.
Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov said in a statement: “We remain open to reaching an out-of-court settlement that satisfies all parties. However, we are also ready to pursue legal arbitration to its proper and just conclusion.”
The Central Asian country would continue to investigate “compelling evidence” of corruption and other violations by Centerra, he said.
Centerra has denied all the allegations.
The September meeting included discussions around the future of the Kumtor mine, alleged damages to the environment and tax losses, losses incurred by Centerra since the mine was seized and the potential sale of a 26% stake in Centerra held by state-owned Kyrgyzaltyn JSC.
Centerra froze the government’s stake when it seized the mine, meaning it does not have voting rights, nor is it entitled to dividends.

Austria Hiring People To “Hunt Down Vaccine Refusers”

We are going to make a stealth move above $1800 and hold!
I used to work with sheet metals and buy metals and sell or recycle the drop offs or scrap. I always considered the prices too cheap. For example a 4×8 sheet of thin galvanized steel was cheaper than a sheet of plywood and plywood grows on trees. .20cents a pound delivered. Around year 2000. So cheap the scrap was worthless at that time. Or maybe $6 for a ton.
Steel, plain, is the cheapest or minimum wage of metals. After that, all the others like aluminum brass copper silver gold etc are higher. I always suspected that because there is a pecking order of metals values, holding down the more expensive gold would automatically hold down prices of all the others for the greater good of lower manufacturing costs.
Naturally we all know they do it thru the futures market. Even though they hold them back, reality or cost of production goes up and the prices go up anyway in an annoying zig zag manor. If there was no “governor” on commodity prices who knows how crazy high they would get. Then crash? So the futures market is kind of like “price controls” on metals producers being treated like public utilities that are somewhat controlled, no monopoly allowed.
So holding gold down probably keeps the material cost down of an Aircraft Carrier, Tank, Fighter Jet, 747, and a Toyota or Washing machine down. When it comes to production of things that have weight and mass, the “system” seems to like to hold down the costs of materials and labor. Production Labor value also has a pecking order, unskilled versus skilled so a lower than normal value of unskilled minimum wage, holds down the wages of the skilled workers wages.
Factories always had problems getting skilled labor “at that price” in a hot smelly noisy factory, when a person can get a cheap job in an air conditioned store or car dealership selling foreign made imports to friends and relatives.
Holding gold and silver down is good for jewelry producers and jewelry retailers, again lower than normal material and labor costs are needed for more profit.
Bueno!
Thanks IPSO
Best of the season friends
